Student answer (Band 6.0)

In these days, celebrities are getting captured by well-known photographs wherever they go. According to few people, they think this is a good thing because of this they are getting updates about their favourite models. While others think, photographers should not follow them everywhere. I will discuss both views in the upcoming paragraphs.

Initially, many individuals say it is good when well-known personalities get captured by famous photographer as they are interested in their lives. Nowadays, people want to know more about their favourite celebrity. For example, they want to know what they are doing, where they are going. With the help of photographers they are getting updates about them and sometimes they get chance to meet them. Many people follow someone for their fitness they want to know what they eat when they eat how they do gym and so on. Due to this it is beneficial to get updates about famous people.

On the other hand, many individuals thinks this is not good, photographers should not follow well-known people everywhere they go. Which is also good as sometimes they also want to live their private life which is not possible to live in front of the camera. In front of the camera they have to look discipline and they have to apply makeups every time to look great. People should also let them enjoy their free time they should not rush every time they see their favourite celebrity.

As a result, photographers should capture famous people but not everywhere, it is good to capture them on special occasion or the place where well-known people invite them click their pictures. Everyone has right to live their personal life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that people are interested in celebrities' lives, the explanation remains quite superficial. For instance, the point about fitness is a good start but could be expanded to explain why this interest is so pervasive in modern society. Your own opinion is stated clearly in the final paragraph, which is a strength. To improve, aim to provide more detailed examples or deeper analysis of the implications of paparazzi culture, rather than just listing reasons. The response is balanced, but the depth of argument needs to be increased to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Initially', 'On the other hand', and 'As a result' to transition between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. For example, the sentence 'Which is also good as sometimes they also want to live their private life' is a sentence fragment that lacks a clear subject and connection to the previous thought. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that every sentence is grammatically complete will help improve the overall cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, using terms like 'personalities', 'private life', and 'special occasion'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, you use 'photographs' to refer to the people taking the pictures, whereas the correct term is 'photographers'. Additionally, phrases like 'look discipline' should be 'look disciplined' and 'apply makeups' is unnatural; 'wear makeup' would be more appropriate. To improve, focus on learning the correct word forms and common collocations. Expanding your range to include more precise, topic-specific vocabulary would also help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many individuals thinks'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'In these days' instead of 'Nowadays'). There are also some punctuation and sentence boundary issues, such as the fragment starting with 'Which is also good'. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic sentence construction. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tenses will lead to immediate improvement.
