Student answer (Band 6.5)
Today, photography is a major part of everyone's life. Some people prefer to see photographs of celebrities that are taken by the media, but others do not like the work of professional photographers to take pictures of them. In this essay, I will discuss both views and my point of view.
There are a lot of benefits to taking pictures of famous people. One is gaining popularity. With the help of the celebrity's routine, the press and media can gain a name and fame in the public. Therefore, they can become financially strong and develop huge connections in the world of media. For example, when professional photographers give pictures of an actress to a magazine for an article, they can earn money. As a result, they would attain opportunities for work in the future if people like their work because the public has demand for pictures of their favourite star.
On the other hand, there are plenty of drawbacks to clicking pictures of a famous person. The first is that every person has their own personal life. This means that people have the right to enjoy their personal life with families and friends and to stay away from social media. For instance, while going on vacations with their families, celebrities always face reporters and the media. It not only ruins their personal trip but also has a negative impact on their relationships. Sometimes, they want to spend quality time with their close friends and family, but the media creates disturbances in their personal lives.
In conclusion, although pictures of famous people give opportunities for employment and popularity but also take care of the privacy of any person because sometimes a person does not want to reveal some secrets in front of anyone. According to me, I agree that every person has their own choice of how to enjoy life without interference from the media.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the financial benefits for the media and the privacy concerns for celebrities. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the media's financial gain is a bit repetitive, and the discussion on privacy could be more deeply explored with more specific examples. While the task is fully addressed, the depth of analysis is more characteristic of a Band 6.5 or 7.0 level, as some points are stated rather than fully extended.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. Cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some sentences within the paragraphs could be better linked to improve the overall flow. The use of referencing is generally clear, but there is occasional mechanical repetition of phrases like 'personal life' and 'famous people'.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'celebrities', 'media', 'privacy', and 'interference'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simpler, repetitive phrasing (e.g., 'gain a name and fame', 'clicking pictures'). To reach a higher band, the student should incorporate more sophisticated collocations and less common lexical items related to the topic of media ethics or public interest.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'professional photographers to take pictures' (should be 'professional photographers taking pictures') and 'give opportunities for employment and popularity but also take care of' (which lacks a proper subject and parallel structure). Punctuation is generally correct, but the sentence variety is somewhat restricted. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
