Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this fast paced digital era, famous people are filmed by photographers professionally wherever they go. Some people think it due to public interest but others say its wrong to follow. In my opinion, I would like to say there are some advantages and disadvantages for everything. However, we should give some space to the famous people.

To begin with, there are famous actors, influencers and musicians in events they always have their own photographers to catch their achievements and they are not allowed to post anywhere without their concerns. Consequently, Its someone's right to not show their private life on social media.

On the other hand, If photographers, randomly take their photos and videos and post it on social media that would be extremely unethical. If they are outside with their family enjoying in their own way they should not be photographed by anyone else. They are also the normal human beings they want to enjoy and beside the career they also have private life too.

Finally, I totally agree, people take inspirations from their role models. They wanted to know about their life goals and achievements but following them and just clicked them without their permission is miserable.

In conclusion to that, now they introduce a lot of interviews, podcast where they talked about their biography , goals and rewards which helped audiance take notes and inspirations from their role models and also get photographs and autographs from them. Everything now is accessible on social media. Its our moral duty to not harm anyone's feelings and respect their privacy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding public interest is mentioned but not fully explored, and the points about privacy are repetitive. The essay would benefit from more specific examples or deeper analysis of why the public interest in celebrities might justify or fail to justify the actions of photographers. While the prompt is addressed, the ideas remain at a surface level, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In conclusion to that'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, it is not immediately clear who 'they' refers to in the phrase 'they are not allowed to post anywhere'. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'unethical' and 'biography', but the range is somewhat limited and repetitive. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'clicked them' instead of 'photographed them' or 'taking pictures of them'. There are also minor errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'audiance' (spelling) and 'beside the career' (which should be 'in addition to their careers').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Its someone's right', 'They wanted to know'), punctuation (missing commas), and article usage. For example, 'They are also the normal human beings' should be 'They are also normal human beings'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent and occur in both simple and complex sentences, which limits the score for this criterion.
