Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is common that evey movement of celebrities are captured by professional photographers. There are two opinions about that. Some memebers think that the trend is good as people are interested in their lives. Other people are opposing this action. This eassy will discuss the both views. However, I agree with letter view.
Firstly, the people argue that it is their right know, what their favourite people are wearing, eating, using etc. As they are showering their love, they need to have an information about their personal life. Like how they are celebrating the special ocassions. Morover, this give them an inspiration to style themselves. The way famous people maintains them in a personal life becomes a signature statement. It is possible only when paperazzi follows them and take a pictures. To sight an example, Nita Ambani's sari in every function becomes style statement for wedding season.
On the other hand, there is a society who thinks that the trend is inappropriate. They are believer of person's privacy. They thinks that, it is invasion of a privacy. It stops them being their self. This photographs can miss lead the story. The general public portray their charcter with this visual images. As a result, this causes a negative influence sometimes. When youth try to immitate them without giving it single thought. They do not differeciate good and bad for them. For example, when Shilpa shetty was riding on unique bag on airport, they wanted to have it without knowing where they will use it.
To conclude, every human being has right to live their life without being judged. In my opinion, it is wrong to follow the famous people and taking pictures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on paparazzi culture and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion ('However, I agree with letter view'). The main body paragraphs explore the arguments for and against photographing celebrities, providing some supporting examples, such as Nita Ambani's sari and Shilpa Shetty's bag. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and lack deep extension, often bordering on generalisations. For instance, the discussion on privacy in the third paragraph is brief and lacks comprehensive elaboration. Nevertheless, the prompt requirements are adequately met. This performance aligns with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, including an introduction, two main body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Transitional markers such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader through the text. However, cohesion is at times faulty or mechanical. For example, referencing is occasionally imprecise ('this trend', 'the letter view' instead of 'latter view'), and some sentences feel disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother and better supported by more sophisticated cohesive ties. This fits the Band 6 criteria well.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student attempts a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including terms like 'celebrities', 'professional photographers', 'signature statement', and 'invasion of a privacy'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'evey' instead of 'every', 'memebers' instead of 'members', 'eassy' instead of 'essay', 'paperazzi' instead of 'paparazzi', 'ocassions' instead of 'occasions', and 'immitate' instead of 'imitate'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they highlight limitations in lexical control and accuracy, pointing directly to a Band 5 performance for this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'As they are showering their love, they need to have an information about their personal life.' Grammatical and punctuation errors are frequent throughout the response, including subject-verb agreement issues ('every movement... are captured', 'famous people maintains'), incorrect article usage ('an information', 'the letter view'), and awkward phrasing ('there is a society who thinks'). While the meaning can still be understood, these frequent errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band. These characteristics correspond to a Band 5 score.
