Student answer (Band 6.5)
Currently photographers earn a lot from publishing celebrity photos. Therefore, they follow well-known people and capture their moments. This will help some of the brands and destinations such as cafes and hotels to earn public interest. Also, celebrities can influence people with their behaviour. While some believe this is a good practice, I believe this is a bad thing because this will harm famous people's privacy and some of them need to follow strict diets to make a good impression.
The majority of well-known clothing and jewellery brands use famous people such as sportsmen, actors and singers to promote their products. Also, some brand new cafes, restaurants and hotels also use this strategy to attract more customers. Therefore, these photographs help them gain more consumers. For example, sports gear brands like Nike and Adidas use famous footballers and cricketers to promote their products. Additionally, photographers are getting benefits from this act by earning more social media followers, projects and money. Moreover, famous people's behaviour can influence the general public in a positive way.
On the other hand, this practice badly affects the celebrities’ day-to-day life as this harms their privacy. They cannot even have a peaceful dinner with family without public interference. For instance, Harry Potter actor Daniel, wore the same outfit to avoid photographers while he was shooting his new movie. Further, they need to maintain a good impression on their fans. Thus, they have to follow diets and spend a lot on their clothing and makeup.
In conclusion, recently a number of photographers follow celebrity stars to capture their daily lives. Although this helps photographers and brands to earn more and influence public, this will affect the famous people's lives in negative way. Hence, I believe it is wrong to follow famous people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that photographing celebrities is beneficial for public interest and business promotion, and that it is wrong because it violates privacy and imposes lifestyle pressures. A clear position is stated in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Ideas are supported with relevant examples, such as the use of sports brands like Nike and Adidas, and the mention of actor Daniel. However, some arguments, such as celebrities needing to follow strict diets, are slightly tangential or under-developed in relation to the core debate of paparazzi intrusion. Overall, the prompt requirements are fully met, earning a solid Band 7.0 for addressing all parts with a clear position and supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organised into four paragraphs: introduction, body paragraph on the benefits, body paragraph on the drawbacks, and a conclusion. There is a clear overall progression throughout the essay. Cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'Also', 'On the other hand', and 'For instance' are used to link ideas, although there is a slight tendency to overuse simple conjunctive adverbs like 'also' at the beginning of sentences (e.g., repeating 'Also' multiple times in the first and second paragraphs). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes. Referencing is generally clear, resulting in a well-structured essay that meets Band 6.5 to 7.0 descriptors; however, due to the repetitive cohesive markers, a Band 6.5 is awarded.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-specific terms such as 'professional photographers', 'public interest', 'day-to-day life', and 'public interference'. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, though some word choices or collocations feel slightly unnatural, such as 'getting benefits from this act' instead of 'benefiting from this practice'. Spelling and word choice errors are minimal and do not impede communication (e.g., 'famous people's lives in negative way' missing an article). The lexical range is sufficient to achieve a Band 6.0, as it provides an adequate vocabulary resource with occasional inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing subordinate clauses such as 'While some believe this is a good practice, I believe...' and 'Although this helps photographers...'. There are several grammatically correct sentences, but errors persist, particularly with articles ('in negative way' instead of 'in a negative way') and preposition usage. Complex structures are attempted with varying degrees of success, and punctuation is generally sound. Because the mix of simple and complex structures contains some errors that do not impede communication, this aligns well with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
