Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's increasingly interconnected world, it is quite common for the media to follow celebrities and famous players everywhere. However, some people are in favor of this trend, while others oppose it. I believe there should be a balanced approach to following them and posting about them on social media.
On the one hand, people who are interested in the lives of famous actors and personalities often admire every personal detail on digital platforms. There are several reasons behind it. One of the main reasons is their influence on social media. For instance, they often post on their public accounts, showing their successful life without telling the truth or the hard work behind it. Moreover, the younger audience always falls for this trap and wants to be like them. Another reason is their stardom, which often attracts people to their personal and professional lives.
On the other hand, people who are against this trend say that every single detail about them is not people's business, as sometimes it will question their life choices. For instance, they have multiple affairs going on, and the information about this is also on TV or in the media without their consent. Furthermore, some artists do not want to reveal their family's pictures to the public; however, Paparazzi never listen to them and take pictures without permission.
In my opinion, a balanced approach should be taken so that the fans would not be disappointed, and the privacy of the stars should also be maintained. For example, information on their work can be posted publicly; however, their private matters can not be disclosed without their consent.
In conclusion, to maintain their fan following, revealing work-related information could be okay, but posting their personal life could be disturbing for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on media and paparazzi attention towards celebrities and clearly presents the writer's own opinion on a balanced approach. The position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are generally relevant, such as discussing public interest, social media influence, and the invasion of privacy like taking pictures without permission. However, some arguments lack deep extension; for instance, the point about celebrities having multiple affairs is slightly underdeveloped and drifts from the core prompt about photography. Overall, the task is successfully covered, earning a solid Band 6.5 to 7.0 for addressing all components with a clear position and relevant examples, aligning well with Band 7 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. It follows a traditional structure with a distinct introduction, body paragraphs addressing 'on the one hand' and 'on the other hand', an opinion paragraph, and a concise conclusion. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'For instance', guiding the reader through the arguments effectively. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, separating distinct trains of thought. Although referencing and transitions are occasionally slightly mechanical, the overall progression is coherent and meets the criteria for Band 7.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow some flexibility and precision, employing terms such as 'interconnected world', 'stardom', 'consent', and 'publicly'. There are attempts to use less common items, though some collocations and word choices are slightly imprecise or repetitive, such as 'famous players' instead of athletes or figures, and 'multiple affairs going on'. Spelling and word formation are generally accurate, and errors do not impede communication. The lexical range is adequate for the task and fits comfortably into the Band 6.0 to 6.5 range, with Band 6.0 reflecting the adequate but occasionally basic vocabulary choices.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response incorporates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating control over relative clauses and conditional-like structures, as seen in sentences like 'In my opinion, a balanced approach should be taken so that the fans would not be disappointed...' There are some grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'every single detail about them is not people's business' and 'information on their work can be posted publicly; however, their private matters can not be disclosed'. While these errors persist, they rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the arguments easily. This blend of structures and controlled accuracy corresponds closely to Band 6.
