Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
There has been an ongoing arguement about famous individuals are being photographed by professional photographers everywhere they go. Some individuals believe that it is a good thing as the audience is interested in their daily routine, where as others argue that it is a bad idea of photographers to follow them. This essay will discuss both prespectives before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, proponents of supporting the photographers argue that audiences do follow the trend that has been started by the actors on a regular basis. Nowdays, actors do come up with wearing baggy jeans and shirt which is captured by the professionals immediately. Younger generation are very excited to know the new trend started by their favourite actor. For instance, Salman Khan wore a hat which increased the popularity of hats in younger people on the next day of him going viral on social media.
On the other hand, critics contented that capturing every moment on a daily basis is disturbing their privacy and their personal time with friends and family. Everyone has a right to live on their own without being recorded and published. Each actor has a life beyond the film or the serial they act for which they would love to spend with no stress. For example, Amir did gave a notice to ABB company of professional photographers to not interfere in his life without his permission.
From my prespective, photographers should not follow the actors to capture every moment of their life just to entertain the audience seems more convencing because actors do and have the right to live freely.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on paparazzi culture and providing a personal opinion. The student's position is clear throughout the essay, particularly in the conclusion where they state that photographers should not follow actors constantly. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, such as the mention of Salman Khan and the trend of wearing hats, as well as the reference to Amir. However, the development of ideas tends to be a bit simplistic and could be pushed further with deeper analysis rather than brief examples. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of Task Achievement at a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is divided into a clear four-paragraph structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs exploring opposing views, and a conclusion. Logical organisation is generally maintained, and the writer uses standard cohesive phrases such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, referencing and transitions are sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'where as others argue' and 'critics contented'. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but overall cohesion lacks the flexibility and seamless flow required for higher bands, placing this aspect solidly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common collocations and topic-specific terms like 'professional photographers', 'daily routine', and 'popularity'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('arguement', 'prespectives', 'convencing') and lexical inaccuracies ('critics contented' instead of 'contend', 'Amir did gave'). These word choice and spelling errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.0, as the vocabulary is not used with consistent precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The writer attempts complex structures through relative clauses and conditional ideas, but control is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'famous individuals are being photographed' (instead of 'the fact that famous individuals are photographed') and 'actors do come up with wearing baggy jeans'. Punctuation and verb tense consistency also falter in places, such as 'Amir did gave a notice'. These errors are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching Band 7.0, making Band 6.0 a fair and accurate assessment.
