Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is undeniable that celebrities have a big fan base these days which want to know everything about thier personality and minute details of their life. Some public feels positive about this as they build a keen intrest in the life of celebrities, whearas some people see this practice as a negative trend and consider this as invasion in their private life. This essay will address both aspects before reaching a conclusion.

To begin with, people who support capturing famous personalities in public, primarily want to simply copy the personality, built traits and attributes which resembles them with the superstar. Furthermore, there are benifits for celebrities in terms of PR being always be on social media. For instance, there are many celebrities who are nowadays being captured outside their gym, so that the dressing style can be copied. Hence this view point might give trend updates to general audience.

On the other hand, there are individuals who consider following celebrities everywhere for their pictures is a wrong practice. Largely because they consider this breaching of private life of personalities. This can also result in making them be cautious all the time with a fear of getting caught of camera. Such as ,many leads of movies are captured while spending personal time on vacation with their loved ones, but sometime are being caught on camera in a compromising situation, which leads to getting trolled online due to those images. Hence this is proved that photographs of famous personalities by professional photographers by following them everywhere has many negative effects to individuals and society.

In conclusion, while pictures of celebrities while off camera might be good for some advantages like trend setting in fashion or following their lifestyle and appreance, whereas invasion of their privacy have larger negative impacts of life of the celebrities like getting trolled on social media or being caught in compromising dressing situation. I strongly believe that we should allow some peronal space to the famous personalities and not always follow them everywhere, mainly because everyone in todays world have right to their freedom and breaching their personal space is somewhat illegal. Capturing a personality without their permission and publising the images on internet should be a punishable offence. Therefore having a life where everyone is alowed to be free and not be cautious all the time will make this world a happy place to live in.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task well, discussing both views regarding photographers following celebrities and providing a clear personal opinion throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant and generally well-extended. For instance, the first body paragraph explores the public's desire to copy fashion and lifestyle trends, while the second considers privacy breaches and online trolling. However, some arguments lack deeper development and border on over-generalisation, such as the claim that breaching personal space is illegal in all contexts. Nevertheless, the writer maintains a consistent position and covers all aspects required by the prompt, aligning well with the Band 7 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct focus, moving from an introduction to the two opposing views, and finally to a well-defined conclusion containing the writer's stance. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as "To begin with", "Furthermore", and "On the other hand". However, there are some minor mechanical errors and occasional awkward referencing, like "Hence this is proved that..." which slightly detracts from natural flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately, ensuring the overall arrangement remains coherent, making a Band 6.5 or 7.0 appropriate; the clear progression nudges it to a 7.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as "compromising situation", "breaching of private life", and "punishable offence". However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including "thier" instead of "their", "intrest" instead of "interest", "whearas" instead of "whereas", and "benifits" instead of "benefits". Collocations are occasionally imprecise, such as "built traits" instead of "personality traits". These errors do not impede communication, but they prevent the script from achieving a higher band, fitting comfortably within the Band 6 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation slips throughout the response. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ("celebrities have a big fan base these days which want to know"), awkward phrasing ("making them be cautious all the time with a fear of getting caught of camera"), and run-on sentences in the conclusion. While communication is rarely impeded and the writer successfully attempts complex sentence structures, the frequency of errors keeps the performance at a Band 6 level.
