Student answer (Band 6.5)
In recent times, the trend of popular faces being followed by professional photographers has been omnipresent. Certain individuals believe that this trend is positive because public are inclined to their lives, while others claim that it is not right to follow famous people. There are several reasons to have assumption which we will discuss this essay.
Firstly, many youngsters like to follow famous artists and public figure just to find out what they are doing in their personal lives. Professional photographers have only one job to take pictures of these popular people and this provides satisfaction to the need of adults because they can see the pictures of their idols taken by these photographers. Social media plays a crucial role in this trend. Due to the fact that young people wants to achieve an opulent life just how the famous people live, when they see these pictures, they feel inspired by them, thereby making efforts in their lives to attain certain amount of success. For instance, if a teenager sees a picture of an actor in the gym, then that kid will also get inspired and starts going to the gym to buid muscles. Hence, this trend is considered to be positive by certain people.
Secondly, on the other hand, there is a huge impact on the personal lives of these famous people because they also want some personal space which is frequently disturbed by the photographers who take their pictures all the time. Everyone has right to privacy; however, this becomes extremely difficult when it comes to people who are popular and are followed by many other people. Sometimes even famous people want to keep their life private and want to keep some events only visible to their near and dear ones; however, when photographers follows them constantly, it is not quite possible to have privacy.
In my view, there should be some limitation and restrictions on the photographers as I believe this trend is positive up to certain extent but it becomes negative if these liberty given to photographers is exploited which hampers the private life of famous people.
In conclusion, being recorded constantly by photographers has both positive and negative side of it and having a certain balance between the both extremes is ideal.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the positive and negative views regarding the media following celebrities, and clearly states the author's own opinion in the body paragraph and conclusion. The ideas are relevant and supported with explanations, such as the psychological impact on teenagers and the desire for privacy among celebrities. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise, such as assuming all youngsters follow famous people simply to find inspiration or buy gym clothes. While the position is clear throughout, the development of ideas could be extended further with more sophisticated or nuanced examples to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is adequately addressed in line with Band 6.5 or Band 7 criteria, and the content is fully relevant.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay demonstrates a clear overall progression and logical organisation. The text is divided into appropriate paragraphs, each serving a distinct purpose: introduction, body paragraph on the positive view, body paragraph on the negative view, personal opinion, and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly, on the other hand', 'In my view', and 'In conclusion' are used to signpost the structure, although some transitional elements feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional referencing lapses occur, such as the phrase 'the both extremes' in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, maintaining reader engagement throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'omnipresent', 'opulent', and 'exploited'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing, such as 'public are inclined to their lives' instead of 'interested in their lives', 'to have assumption which we will discuss this essay', and 'attain certain amount of success'. Spelling and word-choice errors do not impede communication, but they reflect a Band 6 level where vocabulary control lacks the precision and flexibility required for Band 7.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The essay exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The student attempts complex structures using relative clauses and subordinate conjunctions, such as 'Due to the fact that young people wants to achieve an opulent life...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly subject-verb agreement issues ('young people wants', 'public are', 'kid will also get inspired and starts'), missing articles, and preposition errors ('to certain extent'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but grammatical inaccuracies occur with enough frequency to constrain the score to a Band 6, even though communication of meaning is rarely impeded.
