Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on paparazzi photography and providing a personal opinion in the conclusion. The introduction outlines the two perspectives clearly, and the body paragraphs cover the benefits for stars and photographers alongside the negative privacy violations. However, some ideas are a bit repetitive or lack full extension. For instance, the economic benefits are mentioned in a somewhat convoluted way regarding sponsorships and brand sales. Similarly, the counterargument touches on emotional distress and false rumors, but the examples provided, such as early pregnancy leaks, are briefly stated rather than deeply explored. Despite these limitations in depth, a clear position is maintained throughout, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay is coherent overall with a clear logical arrangement divided into appropriate paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'In this contemporary era', 'On the other side', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the phrase 'these are providing extra ordinary benefits' has an unclear pronoun reference pointing back to profits or sponsorships, which creates confusion. Furthermore, paragraph transitions could be smoother, and some sentences within the body paragraphs feel loosely connected. Paragraphing is handled well overall, but the mechanical nature of some cohesive ties limits the score to a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era', 'innovations', 'sponsorships', and 'privacy'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'comtemporary' instead of contemporary, 'tends' instead of tend, 'photomakers' instead of photographers, 'sponserships', 'renwoned', 'extra ordinary', 'voilate', 'intance', 'breakout', 'distubing', and 'futher'. These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not seriously impede overall communication. The vocabulary is generally sufficient to convey the intended meaning, but the frequency of spelling slips and awkward collocations keeps the lexical score at a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'people tends to share', 'photos which are shared... may voilate', and 'posting without consent cause the wrong information to circulate'. Punctuation is also occasionally weak, particularly with comma splices and run-on structures like 'Professional photographers capture the cheerful and sorrow moments of these stars to get fame which consequently, get viral without enough efforts causing huge profits which they gain...'. While communication is rarely completely blocked, the accumulation of grammatical inaccuracies across complex sentences places this performance firmly at a Band 5.0.
