Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary society, paparazzi have managed to get the information about celebrities. They go to any extent to take a single candid and sometimes they humiliated by their bodyguards. However, it is also a fact that, it is crucial for a famous people to be in a limelight all the time, because their fans want to know every bit of their life. This essay will analyze whether it is a good approach to follow a public figure all the time or respect their privacy.
Nowadays, with the increase usage of social media, every news appear on it. In addition, in the race of breaking the news first professional photographers crossed all the limits. However, it is undeniable that celebrities also want sometimes to get captured and stay in the news, because as long as they are in the news they are grabbing the attention of the audience. For this, sometimes their PR team speards rumours againt them because a negative publicity is also a publicity. For instance, if an actor is seen with a girl in a restaurant or a party two or more times it is believed that they are probably in a relationship. Moreover, we should not forget the people who admire these superstars. Such individuals blatantly follow them everywhere like every social platfrom and interested in every news related to them and want to know every detail of their life.
However, we must keep this in mind that public figures also have a private life and it is not advisable to follow them everywhere and click their private moments. Public and media should give them spare time to live thier life peacefully. Following them for a selfie or a photograph or click their pictures without their permission is immoral. They also have right to spend time with their family and friends like every other nomal individual. One should ask first before clicking pictures and if they refuse they must respect them
From my perspective, although famous personalities are public figures and their most part of life is open to everyone, despite this one should respect their privacy. They also have basic rights like every normal human being. It is absolutely unethical to follow them everywhere.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on paparazzi and celebrity privacy, and provides a clear position in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. While the second paragraph touches upon why public figures might welcome media attention—such as through PR teams and negative publicity—this point is somewhat under-developed and abruptly shifts into talking about fans without a smooth transition. Similarly, the arguments regarding the immorality of following celebrities everywhere are stated clearly but lack deeper extension or more varied examples. To move to a higher level, all main ideas need to be fully elaborated with robust supporting arguments throughout the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, establishing a recognizable line of argument. However, cohesion at the sentence and paragraph level is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'For this' and referencing words are occasionally unclear in connecting back to the intended antecedents. Paragraphing is used to separate the different facets of the prompt, but internal flow within the second paragraph feels slightly disjointed when jumping from professional photographers to PR stunts and then to adoring fans. Improving the precision of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother logical transitions between sentences will enhance the overall progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'contemporary society', 'candid', and 'public figure'. However, there are notable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation that prevent a higher score. Examples include 'increase usage' instead of 'increased usage', 'every news appear' instead of 'all news appears', and 'speards rumours againt them' containing spelling errors. Other awkward phrasings like 'give them spare time to live thier life peacefully' demonstrate a limited grasp of natural collocation. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they highlight the need for greater lexical precision and correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and subordinate clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that catch the reader's attention. Issues include article errors ('a famous people'), subject-verb agreement ('every news appear'), prepositional patterns, and awkward phrasing such as 'click their pictures' instead of 'taking their pictures'. Furthermore, punctuation around clauses is occasionally neglected. Although meaning remains mostly clear despite these slips, the persistence of basic grammatical inaccuracies across different sentence types keeps the structural control at this level.
