Student answer (Band 6.5)
It has become increasingly common for professional photographers to follow celebrities and take photos of them. As a result, this has created a trend in which individuals become increasingly influenced by observing famous celebrities on social media. Some people believe, this trend is beneficial for public as it encourage them to adopt the positive habits of celebrities, while others argue, this practice invades celebrities privacy.
To begin with, professional independent photographers such as paparazzi often follow and take pictures of high-profile people. These photographers use high-powered camera lenses and telephoto flash to capture high-resolution images. The photos taken by paparazzi are then sold to magazines, tabloids, and social media profiles, allowing people to admire and adopt the appearance and lifestyles of famous celebrities. For instance, a famous superstar such as Hrithik Roshan is highly praised for his physique and Greek personality, and various magazines and advertising companies publish his photos to attract attention and increase sales. As a result, people become highly influenced by his physical fitness and adopt his lifestyle in their daily routine.
On the other hand, some individuals claim that frequent photos taken by paparazzi and the increasing number of people following celebrities on social media profiles can significantly invade their privacy.
Paparazzi are known for their relentless pursuit of high-profile individuals; this includes following them in vehicles to capture personal or private moments. This is mainly because of constant exposure and the increasing demand of people to explore more about celebrities personal life. As a result, celebrities may struggle to maintain their privacy and spend time with their families without being constantly monitored or photographed.
In conclusion, although following celebrities and sharing their lifestyles can encourage people to adopt positive habits, I believe that the invasion of their privacy is a more significant concern. Therefore, the disadvantages of excessive public attention and paparazzi photography outweigh the potential benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the benefits of following celebrities and the privacy concerns—and clearly states your own opinion in the conclusion. Your position is maintained throughout the essay. However, while the ideas are relevant, some are slightly under-developed or repetitive, particularly the discussion on physical fitness and how it influences daily routines. To reach a higher level, you could have explored deeper sociological impacts rather than relying solely on the example of physical appearance. Nevertheless, the main arguments are well-selected and cover the prompt adequately for this band.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, using standard introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs. You use basic cohesive devices effectively, such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader through your arguments. However, referencing and cohesion can sometimes feel a bit mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'As a result'. To move further, you could incorporate more sophisticated referencing and smoother transitional phrases between sentences without relying heavily on formulaic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'high-powered camera lenses', 'high-resolution images', and 'relentless pursuit'. There are some minor word choice and collocation issues, such as writing 'celebrities personal life' instead of the possessive plural 'celebrities' personal lives', and 'Greek personality' instead of 'Greek god physique'. However, these lexical errors do not impede communication, and your spelling is accurate. To improve, aim for greater precision and natural collocation when using advanced descriptive terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating control over relative clauses and conditional structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('beneficial for public' should be 'beneficial for the public') and punctuation or agreement slips, such as 'Some people believe, this trend is beneficial' where the comma is unnecessary. Additionally, there are minor prepositional issues in phrases like 'demand of people'. However, these errors rarely impede communication, and the majority of your simple sentences are error-free. Incorporating a wider variety of flawless complex structures will help elevate your grammatical score.
