Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response identifies both sides in the introduction: public interest in celebrities’ lives and the concern that photographers interfere with their privacy. It also begins to explain the impact on celebrities, noting that being photographed can make it difficult to spend personal time alone. However, the discussion is only partial: the public-interest view is not clearly explained, and the essay gives no developed examples or clear personal opinion, despite the task asking for both views and your own position. The response also does not meet the stated 250-word minimum, so the ideas remain very limited and under-developed. To improve, state your opinion directly and develop each view with a reason and a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory paragraph presents the two views, and “To begin with” signals the start of a supporting paragraph. The contrast marker “On the other hand” also helps show the relationship between the positions. However, the essay ends before the discussion progresses to the opposing view or a conclusion, so there is no complete overall line of development. Some links between sentences are unclear, such as the shift from celebrities’ lack of privacy to the public being influenced by their outfits and habits. Build a clear sequence of paragraphs—one for each view, followed by your opinion—and use linking phrases to show how each supporting point connects.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “professional photographers,” “personal time,” “personal life,” and “publication.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited, and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce precision, including “intrested,” “caputre,” “cought,” and “infulence.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “favourable for famous personality to public are interested” and “photographer have duties.” Aim for accurate topic-specific expressions such as “public curiosity,” “media attention,” “privacy,” and “intrude on someone’s private life.” Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships so your ideas sound more natural and are easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the opening contrast between the two views is understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. The opening lacks a finite verb (“Nowadays, famous people caught…”), and the sentence about public interest has an unclear structure (“famous personality to public are…”). There are also errors in agreement and verb forms, for example “professional photographers always searching” and “Public are influence.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, particularly the run-on sequence ending “publication.” Practise complete subject–verb structures, correct auxiliary use, and agreement, then proofread each sentence to ensure it expresses one clear idea.
