Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that photographers capture the lives of famous people anywhere they go. Some people believe that it is good practice because public is curious to know more about their role models and provides them carrer oportunities. However, others say that it might lead to invasion of privacy and risk to children and family.

On the one hand, some people favor the way professional photographers take photos of celebrities beacuse people are interested in their lives. Many people on social media follow their favourite celebrities and always want to see a new content they post. People are really involved in knowing about the places celebrities visit, their diet plan and what are the upcoming projects. Thus, this not only helps people to get deatils about famous people, but also help celebrities to remain in headlines. Moreover, captivating instagram account of famous people support them to boost their carrer. Many directors reach out the famous people who are liked most by the public and provides them offer of blockbuster movies. For example, people before used to know Virat Kholi as an Indian cricketer, but now he is also being featured in advertisements with his popularity in media.

On the other hand, privacy of famous people would be hampered, if photographers keep on following them everywhere they go. The media often spread the rumours about the affairs of famous celebrities. This effects them mentally and sometimes it even effects their personal relations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You introduce both views and give relevant reasons, including public interest in celebrities’ lives and concerns about privacy and family. The example of Virat Kohli also supports the point about media attention creating opportunities. However, the response does not fully address the task: the second view is only briefly explained, with no specific example or discussion of risks to children, and your own opinion is not clearly stated. The opening mentions career opportunities, but this idea is not developed enough to establish your position. The response is also 9 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, state your view directly, develop both sides more evenly, and explain your reasons with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph supporting public interest, and a paragraph presenting concerns about privacy. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the two perspectives, and ideas within the first body paragraph generally progress from social-media interest to career benefits. However, the final paragraph is very short and ends without a conclusion, so the discussion feels unfinished. Some links are mechanical, and the sequence in the first body paragraph could be made more explicit. Add a concluding paragraph that states your opinion, and use clearer links to show how each example supports the main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “role models,” “invasion of privacy,” “rumours,” and “blockbuster movies.” These choices make the subject clear, and you attempt some less common expressions such as “captivating Instagram account.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “provides them carrer oportunities,” “a new content,” and “get deatils.” Spelling errors such as “beacuse,” “Kholi,” and “carrer” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent understanding, but more precise, natural phrasing would improve the response. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for discussing media attention and professional opportunities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if photographers keep on following them everywhere they go” and a contrast introduced by “However.” Most sentences communicate their main meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “public is curious” needs an article or plural subject, and “what are the upcoming projects” is not correctly integrated into the sentence. There are also agreement problems in “this not only helps … but also help” and “directors … provides.” Punctuation is occasionally inconsistent, particularly around commas and spaces after full stops. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and indirect-question word order to make your varied structures more accurate.
