Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views: you explain that people are interested in famous people’s lives and that following them can expose the public to harmful behaviour such as smoking or drinking. You also give a personal position, concluding that following celebrities is acceptable if people focus on positive examples. However, the discussion is only partial and the ideas remain under-developed. The point about professional photographers at weddings shifts attention from the question of photographing celebrities, while the possible harm to society is asserted rather than illustrated or explained. Make the two viewpoints more distinct, explain why public interest might justify or fail to justify intrusive photography, and support your opinion with a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a recognisable movement from public interest, to concerns about harmful influence, and finally to your opinion. Basic linking expressions such as “and,” “not only that,” and “but” help show some relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the two views and your conclusion are difficult to distinguish. Many points are joined by repeated “and,” and references such as “they” and “this” are sometimes unclear. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and organise each paragraph around one main point. A wider, more precise range of linking phrases and clearer references would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “professional photographer,” “social media,” “smoking,” and “good thing,” so the general subject is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “good thing” and “famous people.” Numerous spelling errors, including “femous,” “picyure,” and “socila,” make the writing harder to read. Some word combinations are also unclear, such as “take the good thing from their life” and “bad impact to our social life.” Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations carefully; for example, describe the positive influence people may draw from celebrities rather than referring vaguely to “good things.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example when explaining that celebrities’ behaviour may influence ordinary people. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts to form longer sentences often contain errors that make the relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “this now become common” and “every people has his own,” where the verb forms and agreement are not controlled. Articles and sentence boundaries are also frequently problematic, as in the opening run-on passage. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although,” or “which.” Check subject–verb agreement, tense, and punctuation when editing.
