Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both perspectives and state a clear view: following people without their consent is “not acceptable.” The response also gives relevant supporting points, including celebrities who invite publicity, the public’s interest in private lives, and the effects of paparazzi on children and mental health. This covers the task well, and your position is reinforced in the conclusion. However, the first view is not always clearly distinguished from celebrities who deliberately arrange publicity, and some claims—such as paparazzi causing drug use and depression—would be stronger with explanation or a specific example. The conclusion’s call for “moderation” also leaves some uncertainty about what limits you support. Develop these points more precisely to make the discussion more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the discussion, while “Moreover” introduces an additional point. The progression is generally understandable, but some links between ideas are abrupt. For example, the paragraph about public interest moves quickly from social-media viewership to paid magazine photographs and then to fans’ expectations, without explaining how these points relate. The conclusion’s “moderation” is also not fully connected to the earlier argument for consent. Use clearer topic sentences and more explicit links between examples and the paragraph’s main claim; this would make cohesion less mechanical and referencing more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “public interest,” “loyal fan following,” “private life,” and “paparazzi,” and some choices such as “hefty amount” and “sensitive to flashes” help convey specific ideas. However, several spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural combinations reduce precision: “magzines,” “bussiness,” “inappropiate,” and “papparazi” are examples, while “professional photographs” does not express the intended meaning of photographers. Phrases such as “public spot light” and “optimum boundries” are also awkward in context. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than using formal-sounding words where they do not fit. Proofreading spelling and checking word forms would make your vocabulary more effective and easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and more complex structures, including the contrast in “While some people believe … whereas others argue …” and the conditional idea “Any act that is done willingly is permissible.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “everybody privacy should respected,” which needs a possessive form and a passive verb, and “Most of influential people,” where the article pattern is incorrect. The opening sentence also has a comma splice after “era,” and the final sentence, “Optimum boundries should must be retained,” combines incompatible modal forms. Work on articles, possessives, passive constructions, and sentence boundaries, then proofread for verb patterns. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
