Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays famous people are followed by professional photographers everywhere they go. Some people think this is good because the public are interested in their private lives. However others believe that professional photographers should not follow celebrities. In my opinion professional photographers should respect the privacy of famous people.
Those who support professional photographers have some reasons. The main reason is that the public is interested in the lives of famous people many people watch movies listen to music and read news about famous celebrities. For example here in the Philippines many people follow famous celebrities on social media accounts and buy their magazines to see their photos newspapers and websites also earn money by selling their photos to the public and they say it helps the entertainment business.
On the other hand some people think it is wrong for professional photographers to follow famous celebrities all the time famous people also needs privacy like normal people do. They should be able to spend time with their friends and family without cameras following them. For example famous celebrities cannot go to supermarket or restaurant because professional photographers are always waiting outside. And these can make their very stressful for them. Also sometimes photographers take photos of them in dangerous ways just to get a clear picture.
In conclusion although the public are interested in famous people. I believe the celebrities are also have the right to privacy photographers should not follow them everywhere. There should be a balance between public interest and personal privacy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: the public’s interest is linked to entertainment and media income, while your position is that celebrities deserve privacy. The examples about social media, magazines, and being followed to shops help make the discussion relevant. However, the supporting view is less fully developed than the privacy argument, and the claim that celebrities “cannot go to supermarket or restaurant” would benefit from explanation or a more specific example. Your conclusion restates your position and introduces a reasonable balance, but that balance is not explored in the body. The response is 245 words, so it falls five words short of the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop the less-supported view further and meet the required length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “However,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify your position throughout. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. To make the flow more consistently smooth, use punctuation to separate ideas within long sentences and avoid abrupt transitions between claims. For example, the sentence beginning “The main reason is that the public is interested” runs several ideas together, while “For example” introduces a claim about access to shops without clearly connecting it to the preceding point. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for discussing celebrity privacy and public interest, with relevant terms such as “private lives,” “entertainment business,” and “personal privacy.” The meaning is generally clear, and you make some useful attempts to express specific ideas, including photographers waiting outside restaurants. However, several words and phrases are repeated, especially “famous people,” “professional photographers,” and “public,” which limits flexibility. Some choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as “follow famous celebrities on social media accounts” and “make their very stressful.” Aim for more precise collocations and a wider range of topic vocabulary, while checking word forms and spelling. This would help express your ideas more naturally without changing their meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, including contrast with “although” and a reason introduced by “because.” Most ideas remain understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries, and clause construction occur in several places. For example, “famous people also needs privacy” should use a plural verb, and “the celebrities are also have the right” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “The main reason is that” also needs clearer punctuation to separate its ideas. Work on producing accurate simple sentences first, then extend them with controlled subordinate clauses. Checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns during proofreading would improve accuracy while allowing you to retain some structural variety.
