Student answer (Band 6.0)

Popular individuals are often followed by media and news channels. Residents are also interested to know their lifestyle and habit and many wants to do the same activities. Some people assert that it is positive for society, whereas others argue that photography without consent is unacceptable because everyone deserve to have their own privacy. From my perspective, media and photographer should not intervene in their life without consent because it may impact on their performance. This essay will outline both perspective in detail.

To begin with, there are few reasons why some people consider it as a positive development. The first and foremost reason is motivation that people may get. It is observed that success can be achieved by dedication and hard-work and celebrities often follow a strict schedule and put 100% effort in their work. Such lifestyle are considered as an example of success in our society. For instance, Akshay kumar from India is one of the popular actor and always wake up at 5 am in the morning to do exercise. Such routine motivate citizens to do the same to stay fit and to achieve better fitness.

On the other hand, some people suggest that photographer should not follow them everywhere they go because it raise the concern of privacy and freedom. Media channels may receive widespread attention across the world if they will able to find something unusual in celebrity's lives. For instance, in recent years, new channel have reported that famous actor Shahrukh Khan was smoking nearby movieset. Such negative news may encourage young people in our society to do the same which may have negative consequences.

To sum up, recording activities of popular individuals can have positive results if their consent have taken. Their hard work can encourage citizens in our society, although negative activities can spread outrage across the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and gives a clear personal position: you support reporting only when celebrities have consented. The first body paragraph explains how a celebrity’s routine might motivate the public, and the Akshay Kumar example makes this point relevant. The opposing view is also presented through privacy and the possible influence of negative stories. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. The claim that photographers should not follow celebrities is mainly linked to privacy, while the Shahrukh Khan example focuses on the effects of reporting smoking rather than explaining the harm caused by photographers’ pursuit. Develop this connection and explain more directly why public interest does or does not justify such coverage. The conclusion is consistent with your position but could synthesise both arguments more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” helps readers follow the progression, and each body paragraph has a recognisable central focus. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through logical paragraphing. To make the progression more consistently smooth, use links that explain relationships between ideas rather than relying mainly on standard transitions. For example, connect the claim about privacy directly to the example of the actor being photographed, then explain its significance. Some references are also vague: “it” in “it is positive for society” and “their” in “follow them everywhere” could be made more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “privacy,” “consent,” “dedication,” “strict schedule,” and “negative consequences.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions show an attempt to discuss the issue precisely. However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “popular individuals,” “news channel,” “raise the concern of privacy,” and “spread outrage.” There is also repetition of general terms such as “society” and “popular.” Aim for more natural topic-specific phrasing and check whether nouns and verbs commonly occur together. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish public interest in celebrities from intrusive media attention.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes both simple sentences and attempts at complex structures, for example “because everyone deserve to have their own privacy” and “if their consent have taken.” The overall meaning remains understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction reduce accuracy. Examples include “many wants,” “Such lifestyle are,” “one of the popular actor,” and “it raise the concern.” The conditional construction “if they will able to find” is also faulty. Review subject–verb agreement and the forms of auxiliary verbs, and check articles and plurals when describing people or routines. Greater control of these patterns, while retaining varied sentence structures, would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
