Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era, it is increasingly common for the professional photographers to track famous people's location and take their pictures by following them through the social media. While some people believe that this trend is beneficial for celebrities as they can see that general public is showing interest in them, others argue that it is wrong as they cannot take their private time anywhere. This essay will discuss both perspective before giving my opinion.

To begin with, according to numerous masses having photographers around celebrities shows that they are famous among public. This is because professional photographers click pictures of those people who can get them attention of population so that they can earn some money by gaining views. For example, in India, paparazis always follow actors when they travel to airport or in market for their personal time with their families. They do so in order to post their pictures on their social media accounts to reach their target to get some money.

On the other hand, others claim that this trend is wrong as it results in disturbing the lives of celebrities. They believe this because of evidence they saw on online plateforms and in some interviews where famous people mentioned that they do not get any valuable time for themselves or with family. For example, there was video on instagram in which an actor went to restaurant with his wife and photographers came there to take their pictures without taking their permission due to which that celebrity got upsat and he argued with them. As a result, that actor had to face hate from various people. I agree with view because does not matter if they are well known personalities, they still deserve to enjoy their own life in a way they want without any disturbance.

In conclusion, although it is photographers job to take pictures and upload them, they should respect celebrities privacy. Additionally, they should take their permission before clicking their photographs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and make your own position clear: the first body paragraph explains why public interest can benefit photographers, while the second argues that celebrities deserve privacy, and the conclusion reinforces this view. The examples about paparazzi in India and the restaurant incident help make the discussion relevant. However, the first viewpoint is not fully explored: the explanation focuses mainly on photographers earning money, rather than clearly showing why the public’s interest in celebrities’ lives is considered a positive thing. Some claims, such as the actor facing public hate, are also left unexplained. Develop each side more evenly and connect examples directly to the reasons they support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectations securely, and the paragraphing is effective. To make the organisation more flexible and precise, avoid relying so heavily on formulaic transitions and improve links between claims and examples. For instance, the restaurant example is followed by the actor facing hate, but the relationship between these events is not made clear. There is also a missing space after the full stop in “celebrities. They,” which interrupts the presentation slightly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “professional photographers,” “paparazzi,” “privacy,” and “permission,” and the main ideas remain understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated or imprecise expressions, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “numerous masses,” “reach their target to get some money,” and “valuable time for themselves.” Spelling errors such as “plateforms” and “upsat” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and precise terms when discussing public interest, privacy, and media behaviour. This would make your meaning clearer and give you more flexibility without relying on broad phrases such as “those people” or “various people.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “While some people believe…” and a reason clause with “because.” Most of the argument can be followed, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms recur. For example, “it is increasingly common for the professional photographers” uses an unnecessary article, and “I agree with view because does not matter…” lacks a clear subject and has an incomplete clause. In “celebrities. They,” punctuation and spacing also need attention. Practise building complete clauses and checking articles, possessives, and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the complex sentences you are already attempting.
