Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, celebrity people are photographed by professional photographers everywhere they go. Some individuals say this is worth it because the public is interested in their lives. Other people think that photographers are wrong to follow famous people. In my opinion, both views have different aspects, but we will discuss both views in detail.
It is one of the most argued topics nowadays; famous people are captured by professional photographers everywhere they go. Many of us are interested in their personal lives. For example, there is a reason behind it; I believe that famous people, like actors or actresses, already tell professional media people, and their fans follow them to capture them. Celebrities do this because they want to know their fan following and want more people inspired by them. Moreover, many young people follow them and are fascinated by their lives and addicted to following them.
On the other hand, many people do not like this behavior because famous people influence their children, and they want a luxury life and lifestyle like them. For instance, it has been noticed in our society that young people take inspiration from movies and influencers, and they think these are real things in their lives. Additionally, many young boys like to watch action movies; as a result, many young boys spoil their lives by getting involved in this kind of action.
In conclusion, both views have their own reasons, and in my opinion, photographers are wrong to follow famous people. They should show the good side to people because our young generation is influenced by them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You introduce the topic and give a clear final opinion that photographers are wrong to follow celebrities, so the reader can identify your position. However, the discussion only partially addresses the two views: the first side is presented mainly as fans’ interest and celebrities’ desire for attention, while the opposing side focuses on young people copying celebrity lifestyles and action films rather than explaining the privacy or harm caused by photographers’ pursuit. The examples are broad and some claims are difficult to follow, so the ideas remain limited and under-developed. The response also contains 237 words, which is 13 words below the required minimum; 25 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides with relevant reasons and specific examples, and meet the minimum length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps distinguish the two sides and makes your final view easy to locate. However, progression within the body paragraphs is not always clear. In the first, the link between celebrities inviting media attention and photographers following them everywhere is confusing; in the second, the move from celebrity influence to action films and young people’s behaviour is abrupt. Several linking phrases, including “For example,” “Moreover,” and “Additionally,” are used, but they do not always show a precise relationship between ideas. Organise each body paragraph around one clear reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “professional photographers,” “personal lives,” “influence,” and “inspiration.” There are also attempts to use more specific expressions such as “fan following” and “luxury life and lifestyle.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are unnatural or imprecise, which can make the intended meaning harder to follow. For example, “celebrity people” is not a natural way to refer to famous people, and “spoil their lives” does not clearly express the consequence you intend. Repetition of “famous people,” “young people,” and “follow” also limits variety. Build a more precise set of terms for privacy, media attention, and public interest, and check collocations in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple sentences and some longer structures, including the contrast introduced by “On the other hand” and the result clause “as a result.” Most of the message remains understandable, but the range is limited and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty or awkward. For instance, “For example, there is a reason behind it; I believe that…” joins ideas without a clear grammatical relationship, while “famous people, like actors or actresses, already tell professional media people” has an unclear structure and meaning. The opening phrase “It is one of the most argued topics” also shows difficulty forming a natural sentence pattern. Practise building clear subject–verb clauses and joining them with accurate subordination, while checking punctuation around longer sentences.
