Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to adequately address the task. While it mentions the tables, it does not provide a clear summary of the main features or trends. The data provided is fragmented and often inaccurate, such as the claim that '2000 was the highest at 8,009,185' without context, or the incomplete sentence at the end. The response lacks a meaningful analysis of the population changes across the five districts, failing to compare the growth or decline of specific areas over the two-century period. The information is presented in a way that is difficult to follow and does not fulfill the requirement to report main features.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks logical organization and progression. While there are paragraph breaks, the ideas within them are disjointed and often incomplete. Cohesive devices are used ineffectively or are absent, making the text feel like a collection of disconnected sentences rather than a cohesive report. For example, the transition 'Moreover second and third table compar in' is grammatically broken and fails to link ideas. The referencing is unclear, and the overall structure does not guide the reader through the data in a logical manner.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'liveing' instead of 'living', 'illustreta' instead of 'illustrate', and 'othre' instead of 'other'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the data trends accurately; for instance, the writer uses 'highest figures' and 'lowest values' repeatedly without employing more precise academic terminology like 'peaked', 'fluctuated', or 'remained stable'. The errors in basic vocabulary and the inability to use appropriate terminology for data description significantly hinder communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede understanding. There are many sentence fragments, such as 'The first table The highest figures were recorded in 2000' and 'Moreover second and third table compar in The highest percentage in 76% while othre'. Punctuation is also problematic, with misplaced commas and periods. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There is no evidence of complex sentence structures, and the high frequency of basic errors in subject-verb agreement and word order makes the text difficult to read.
