IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The first table below shows changes in the total population of New York City from 1800 to 2000. The second and third tables show changes in the population of the five districts of the city (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island) over the same period.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The first table depicts the information of public of New York city in the year 1800, 1900, and 2000. While other two table illustrates the data about citizen in district of New York country side this includes Manhattan Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.
Overall, the population of New York is countinuosly growing over the years from 1800 to 2000. While the total population falls down of district of New York city.
To begin with, it is clear that the highest number of occupants increased significantly in New York city in the year 2000 it holds 8,009,185 . In contrast, there has been decrease moderately, of inhabitant of New york town in the period 1800.
Furthermore, the least occupiers found in Manhattan district in the year 2000 it accountable 19% of total population. While, other district of the city shows topmost communities in the year 2000. It shows 81% of entire people. However, the percentage of combined citizenry of other ditrict (Brooklny, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island) gradually descend as the population falls in the follwing decades 1800, 1900, and 2000.
