Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a complete summary. While it identifies some key figures, the analysis is incomplete, and the response ends abruptly mid-sentence, leaving the final data points unaddressed. The overview is present but lacks clarity, and the selection of data is somewhat disorganized. To improve, ensure all parts of the data are covered, avoid listing raw numbers without meaningful comparison, and ensure the response is finished completely. The focus should be on identifying trends and significant changes rather than merely transcribing figures from the table.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'after analysing' and 'moving ahead', which do not fit the context of a data report. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the flow of the text. To improve, use more natural linking phrases and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus. Improving the transition between the general overview and the specific data points will help create a more cohesive structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'made in the year' instead of 'occurred in' or 'reached', and 'repersented for'. The student relies on basic phrasing to describe trends, such as 'sharply rose uo'. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary for describing data, such as 'peaked', 'fluctuated', 'accounted for', or 'proportion'. Spelling errors, such as 'populatiuon' and 'poulation', also detract from the overall quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as the run-on sentence in the first paragraph and the misuse of prepositions and verb tenses (e.g., 'it percentage as 76%'). The use of complex structures is limited and often inaccurate. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement and correct punctuation. Avoid overly complex sentences until you have mastered the basics, and proofread carefully to eliminate simple errors in articles and word forms.
