Student answer (Band 5.0)
There are following the three tables in which first table represents the total changes occurred in the whole New York City from 1800 to 2000 whereas, second and third table elaborates the absolute alternations in the five districts of the city over the same period
First of all, it is damn clear from the table that NYC constitutes massive amount population in all the the periods. It's population had been increased from 79,216 to 8,009,185 since 1800 to 2000. While on the other hand, looking forward at the condition of Manhattan, one of the district of city. It is to realized that it has carried more population in 1800 to 1900 as near to 54% than the other four districts.
The other four dictricts i.e; Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island had been collectively consists of almost 81% population in 2000. If we try to make a little difference in this situation then is no use to wrong that in every era the district who has carried greater proportion of facilities and civic rights for nation, has carried considerable amount of population.
In conlusion, it is submitted that in all circumstances New York City has still remains the centre of focus for all the times.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad rise in New York City’s population and note that the other four districts made up 81% in 2000, both relevant features. However, the summary covers the tables only partially: it omits the 1900 and 2000 total figures and gives little account of how Manhattan changed. The statement that Manhattan had more population “in 1800 to 1900” is unclear and does not capture the key pattern: its population rose to 1,850,093 in 1900, then fell to 1,538,096 by 2000, while its share declined from 76% to 19%. The claim about facilities and civic rights is not supported by the tables. Focus on accurate comparisons and a clear overview of the main trends.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to observations and a conclusion, and phrases such as “on the other hand” signal an intended comparison. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the discussion shifts from total population to Manhattan, then to the other districts, without systematically comparing the three years. Some linking phrases are awkward or do not express a clear relationship, as in “If we try to make a little difference in this situation.” The conclusion introduces a general claim about New York as a “centre of focus” rather than summarising the data. Organise the body by the main trends and use straightforward links such as “By contrast” and “By 2000” to make comparisons easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant terms, including “population,” “collectively,” and “proportion,” and attempt a range of expressions. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or too informal for an academic data summary. “Damn clear” is inappropriate in tone, while “absolute alternations” does not convey changes in population. Phrases such as “carried more population” and “centre of focus for all the times” are unnatural and make the intended meaning less precise. There are also spelling errors, including “dictricts” and “conlusion.” Prefer standard, precise language for describing figures and trends, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “There are following the three tables” has an incorrect sentence structure, and “the other four districts … had been collectively consists” combines incompatible verb forms. Agreement and articles are also problematic in “one of the district of city,” while “It's population had been increased” uses an incorrect possessive and verb construction. Several long sentences are joined or punctuated awkwardly, which obscures meaning. Build accuracy first with clear subject–verb sentences, then add subordinate clauses where you can control the verb forms and punctuation.
