Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is believed, that supply of clean water should be available for every household, free of cost as it is a basic human right, I totaly agree with this statement, as water is as basic need and it is good for health.
To begin with, mostly households in the urban areas have to pay for water supplies and the packaged drinking water which is a negative development, today most of the places are not very friendly with clean water, like lot of remote villages are often seen with a scarcity of water as government is only focusing only towards the urban areas for providing water facilities, mostly large population living in small areas like slums often faces lot of problems regarding clean dringking or clean water to use for daily household activities like getting ill due to the use of unsanitary water.
Moving on to, the solutions for these situations can be easily found as government should take strict actions against the factories and industries polluting the water bodies, water harvesting should be encouraged among the people living in the remote villages, water treatment plants should be introduced near the slum areas which could help in cleaning more water and the scarcity of the clean water could be resolved, making more water free for public use .
Overall the, concept of free water for every household is a great idea which will help people overcome form situation they face from scarcity of water and will help them complete the daily household work easily and stay healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you “totally agree” that water should be free, and the conclusion returns to this view. You also give relevant reasons, including health risks from unsanitary water and unequal access in remote villages and slums. However, the response does not fully explain the central proposal that every home should receive water free of charge. Much of the body shifts to government actions such as water harvesting and treatment plants, without showing how these measures would make household supply free or how that policy could be implemented. Develop the link between your examples and your position, and explain who should fund the service and why. This would make the argument more fully supported and balanced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally move from the problem of unequal access to possible solutions, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “Moving on” signal the stages of your argument. However, some transitions are mechanical or awkward, particularly “Moving on to, the solutions,” and the first body paragraph combines several points in one long sentence, making the relationships between them difficult to follow. The conclusion also begins with the unclear phrase “Overall the.” Use clearer topic sentences, divide the long paragraph into focused points, and connect each proposed solution explicitly to the argument for free household water.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water scarcity,” “water treatment plants,” “polluting the water bodies” and “unsanitary water,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some attempt to use less common expressions, such as “water harvesting.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “free of cost,” “clean dringking,” “complete the daily household work,” and “overcome form situation” do not sound natural. Spelling errors such as “totaly” and “dringking” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “free of charge,” “safe drinking water,” and “overcome water shortages.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent, especially in long sentences that join several ideas. The opening is a run-on sentence, while “mostly large population … often faces” has problems with article use and subject–verb agreement. Other examples include “the concept … is a great idea which will help people overcome,” where the sentence structure and verb pattern need more control, and punctuation around introductory phrases is often inaccurate. Practise separating independent ideas into complete sentences, and check articles, agreement and clause boundaries. More accurate sentence construction would make your argument easier to follow.
