Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position—“I strongly gree with this statement”—and begin to give a relevant reason by linking unclean water with illness, including cholera. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain why household water should be free, consider how this policy could work, or develop supporting examples. The essay also stops after “Moreover,” leaving the health point unfinished and providing no conclusion. The required minimum length is not met, which substantially limits the opportunity to address and support the argument. To improve, explain at least two reasons, develop each with a specific example, and conclude by restating your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The opening gives the reader a basic direction: you introduce the issue, state agreement, and signal that reasons will follow. “To begin with” also clearly marks the start of your first supporting point. These features provide some organisation, but the response has no completed body development or conclusion, so there is no sustained progression from claim to explanation and evidence. The final “Moreover,” is an unfinished transition rather than a link to a complete idea. Plan a clear sequence of introduction, developed supporting paragraphs, and conclusion; use linking expressions only when the following sentence completes the relationship. Referencing and paragraph development are too limited here to guide the reader through a full argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “basic human right,” “physical health,” “fever,” and “cholera,” and the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is narrow and several choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward: “very major issue” is imprecise, “Use of clean water” is less natural than “access to clean water,” and “importen” and “gree” are misspelled. “Evidence” is promised, but none is actually provided. Build a more precise range for discussing public services and affordability, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, you could refer to “a reliable household water supply” and “waterborne diseases” when developing your health argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes mostly short, straightforward sentences, with a few attempts to connect ideas, such as “I hold the view that it is a government's responsibility.” This makes the basic meaning accessible, but the range of sentence structures is limited and grammatical control is uneven. In “Consequently, it should provide free in every home,” the passive construction and the phrase describing where the supply is provided are incomplete; a clearer form would be “Consequently, it should be provided free of charge to every home.” In “Use of unclean water can cause of issues,” the verb pattern is incorrect: write “can cause issues.” Practise accurate passive forms and verb patterns, then combine claims with explanations using controlled complex sentences.
