Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is the base and the start of every living activity . For that reason it is the most basic given right .Although it is already a given service completely free in some countries it is still not available in many places around the world . This essay will discuss reasons for defending this right to all people 100% without paying any cost for it .
In all communities water is essential for everyday life and needs . Every home is ought to have clean access to water source to avoid major health problems . In developing countries where clean water is a lauxry ,many serious contagiuos health conditions are common among populations. This reflects badly on governemts and cause exhaustion to health care systems as they have to deal with such demanding cases which could hava coast governmets less money if they had been provided with clean water .
Another important point is that in most communities magority of the residents pay a considerable amount of their incomes as taxes for basic services like health care , road maintainance , environment protection and so many other categories . In return people would expect correct allocation of money thay are paying in providing fundemental rights like clean water as bare minimum right . Moreover, providing drinkable source of water is way cheaper than dealing with consequences of contaminated water on both human health and environments . Not only does unclean water affect people drinking it , it also cause damage to crops growing in those areas as well as animals drinking from it .
To conclude , having realiable healty water supply is a bare minimum request and it have to be granted for each member of the community . And on the same time doing that is actually way coast effective than having to handle the problems that might arise from using unclean water in daily needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support free access to clean water, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons. You explain that clean water can prevent illness and reduce pressure on healthcare services, then argue that tax revenue should fund essential services and that prevention is cheaper than treating contamination-related harm. These points address the question and show some development. The response also considers effects on crops and animals, extending the discussion beyond human health. To make the argument more fully developed, explain how governments could provide water without charge—for example, through taxation or public infrastructure—and clarify whether you mean water itself or the costs of supplying it should be free. Some claims, such as the comparison of costs, would benefit from a specific example or clearer explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from health benefits to public funding and wider environmental effects is generally logical. Linking expressions such as “Another important point,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical, and a few references are unclear. For instance, “doing that” in the conclusion could refer to providing water or funding it, while “those areas” does not identify a specific place. The first paragraph also combines several consequences in a long sequence. Use clearer topic sentences and more precise references, and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “basic right,” “health care systems,” “taxes,” “contaminated water,” and “crops,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “allocation of money” and “consequences.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “lauxry,” “contagiuos,” “realiable,” and “coast effective” appear where standard forms are needed. Some collocations are also unnatural, including “clean access to water source” and “providing drinkable source of water.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common combinations such as “access to clean water,” “a reliable water supply,” and “cost-effective.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex structures, including a conditional idea (“which could have cost governments less money if…”) and the inversion “Not only does unclean water affect people…”. These show an effort to vary sentence forms. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction recur and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “Every home is ought to have” should be “Every home ought to have,” and “it also cause damage” needs subject–verb agreement (“it also causes damage”). In the conclusion, “it have to be granted” should be “it has to be provided.” Review sentence boundaries and punctuation too: spaces before full stops and missing spaces after them interrupt the flow. Aim to make each sentence grammatically secure before adding complexity.
