Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is a matter of considerable discussion whether every home should have a water supply that is approachable free of charge or not. beacuse clean water is basic human right. I partially agree with this statement because, although clean water is essential for human survival and should be accessible to everyone, providing unlimited water can cause several financial and environmental challenges.
On the one hand, clean water is one of the basic necessities of human life. Every individual need clean water for their daily tasks, such as cooking, drinking, cleaning and maintaining personal hygiene. Therefore, government should ensure that every persons have the access of clean water regardless of their financial condition. For instance, in developing countries such as pakistan, many people in rual areas lack access to clean drinking water and are forced to rely on contaminated souces, which can lead to serious health problems. Providing a basic amount of clean water free of charge would help reduce these difficulties.
On the other hand, i believe providing clean water totally free of charge could create various problems. Water treatment, transportation of water, infrastructure for supply need a substancial financia resouces. If government provide unlimited water at free of cost it may cause hardships for them to maintain an efficient supply.
In conclusion, i believe clean drinkable water is fundamental right of every huaman being but making it free of charge could arise problems. Government should allow a specific amount of water supply free of charge after that charges would be apply. In this way, it will viable for both government and people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partially agree, supporting free access to essential water while opposing unlimited free use. You address both sides and give a relevant example about people in rural Pakistan relying on contaminated sources, then propose a free basic allowance followed by charges. These points meet the task, but some are less fully developed than others. The argument against unlimited free supply is mainly that treatment, transport and infrastructure require funding; explain more specifically how charging for excess use could support maintenance or discourage waste. The conclusion also introduces the tiered solution without fully showing how it follows from the discussion. The response meets the stated length requirement; nine words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present contrasting arguments, and a conclusion gives a practical compromise. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the progression. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas need clearer development. For example, the paragraph opposing free water moves from infrastructure costs to government hardship without explaining the connection in detail. The final recommendation of a free allowance and charges for additional use would be more cohesive if it were explicitly linked to both the human-rights argument and the funding concern. Use referencing and transitions that clarify these relationships rather than relying mainly on standard paragraph markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range for the topic, including “contaminated sources,” “financial condition,” “infrastructure,” and “environmental challenges.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. However, several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision: “approachable free of charge,” “access of clean water,” “substantial financial resources” (misspelled in the response), and “free at cost” are not natural or accurate forms. There are also spelling errors such as “rual,” “souces,” and “huaman.” Aim to use familiar topic vocabulary accurately before reaching for less common expressions. More precise terms for a basic household allocation and charges for excess use would also help express your proposal clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concession in “although clean water is essential…” and a conditional sentence beginning “If government provide…”. The overall meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “Every individual need” and “If government provide,” plural agreement in “every persons,” and article or determiner problems in “a basic human right” and “the access.” The final sentence, “after that charges would be apply,” also has an incorrect passive construction. Review agreement, articles, and passive forms, and proofread sentence punctuation and capitalisation. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read while preserving the range of structures you already attempt.
