Student answer (Band 6.0)
Accessibility of clean water is a fundamental human right and it should be provided free of charge. I agree with this opinion because majority of the people cannot afford to buy mineral water for their daily consumption. Most importantly, citizens pay taxes so it is the responsibillity of the goverment to supply clean water in every home.
Adequate supply of safe drinking water is the basic right of citizens. Most of the people particularly low and middle income families barely manage their living expenses and cannot afford to buy mineral water. As a result, they have to consume unsafe water which can cause serious health issues. Apart from this, agricultural sectors must have clean water supply which should be free of cost because a large amount of water is require for farming and culltivation. For instance, most of the people living in rural areas are highly vulnerbale towards water borne diseases because they are unable to get fresh water that's why they have to consume unsafe water for their daily usage.
Another reason why safe drinking water should be free to everyone is that, citizens are tax payers. They pay taxes to the government so it is the responsbility of the governing bodies to facilitate people with clean water supply without any additional cost. They should also monitor and manage water distribution channels appropriately. For example, most of the well-developed countries in the world facilitate their citizens by providing safe water because they use the tax amount for the welfare of society.
In conclusion, consumption of clean water is the basic human right and it should be free of charge because many people cannot afford to buy mineral water for their daily needs. Additionally, citizens are tax payers so they must have free of cost clean water in their home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that clean water should be supplied without charge, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including affordability, health risks, and the use of tax revenue, with examples about rural communities and developed countries. This covers the task well, and the explanation of how unsafe water can affect poorer households is a useful development. However, some points are less fully connected to the specific proposal: the reference to agricultural water shifts attention from household supply, and the claim about developed countries is broad rather than supported with a concrete example. Explain more precisely how free household provision could be funded and maintained to develop the argument further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “As a result,” “Another reason,” and “For example” help readers follow the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated references to “clean water” and “free” rather than varied, precise referencing. The first body paragraph also moves from household affordability to agricultural supply and then rural disease, so its central focus becomes less clear. Some links are awkward, particularly “that’s why” joining a long explanation. Group related points more tightly and use clearer sentence boundaries and references to make progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “fundamental human right,” “unsafe water,” “water-borne diseases,” “water distribution channels,” and “welfare of society.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common expressions show an attempt to discuss the issue precisely. However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce naturalness: “facilitate people with clean water supply” and “the tax amount” are not idiomatic, while “mineral water” is repeated where “safe drinking water” would better express your point. There are also spelling errors, including “responsibillity,” “goverment,” “culltivation,” and “vulnerbale.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for public services and water provision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a reason clause (“because they cannot afford…”) and a result clause (“which can cause serious health issues”). Most sentences communicate your meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “because majority of the people” needs an article, and “a large amount of water is require” has an incorrect verb form. In “citizens are tax payers. They pay,” punctuation and spacing are missing, while “Another reason … is that, citizens” has an unnecessary comma. The long sentence ending “that’s why they have to consume unsafe water” would be clearer as two sentences. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
