Student answer (Band 5.0)

Access to clean water is a commom and important human need. Therefore free of charge water is needed by every home.

water is important for evey human being and doctors suggests that human should have to take eight glass of water in a day. as my opinion without water we cannot survive water is the most imortant blessing of Allah and we should be thankful to God for this blessing.

water should be pure and helthful but nowadays the clean water is not provided to people as we discuss that water is the basic need for human beings but the water is not purified properly. The water we drink and we use for our daily use is not free of charge we have to pay for clean water however, we don"t even know that water is properly clean or purified or not.

Nowadays the government is not giving the people water free of cost we have to pay to drink water. As we are paying for clean water access but we are unable to provided by the water and the bills were so high but the water supply is not provided properly. In Pakistan there is a water filter in every home for the access of clean water but the government is ding nothing for the sake of water.

as we conclude that we have to pay attention on this serious matter and we want to make apeal for clean water supply that is provided free of charge. we have to try for our healths and we have vto take it seriously for the sake of our healths.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a position in favour of free water, especially in the opening and conclusion, and you refer to relevant concerns such as high bills, unreliable supply and household water filters in Pakistan. However, the argument is only partially developed: the point about doctors recommending eight glasses does not explain why the supply should be free, and the claim that the government is “doing nothing” is not supported with a specific example or explanation. The response also shifts between free access, water quality and supply reliability without clearly distinguishing these issues. To strengthen the response, state your position precisely and develop two or three reasons, explaining how free provision could protect health or ensure fair access. The required length is met; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from the importance of water to problems with its quality and cost, then ends with a call for action. The Pakistan example also gives the discussion a relevant focus. However, the progression is not consistently clear, and several points repeat the same idea about paying for water without adding a new reason. Connectors such as “however” and “as we conclude” are used, but relationships between ideas are sometimes unclear; for example, the sentence beginning “As we are paying for clean water access” is difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each main reason and the conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one point. Clearer linking and references would help readers follow the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “purified,” “water supply,” “bills” and “access,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “water,” “important” and “free of charge.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “common and important human need,” “paying for clean water access” and “make appeal.” Spelling errors—including “commom,” “evey,” “imortant” and “helthful”—also make the writing less clear and polished. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing affordability, public services and health, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish free household supply from the cost of treating and delivering water.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response mainly uses simple statements and attempts some longer sentences with contrast, such as the sentence beginning “The water we drink.” These attempts show an effort to connect ideas, but complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader pause. For example, “doctors suggests” has subject–verb disagreement, while “human should have to take” combines verb forms incorrectly. Other problems include missing or inconsistent articles and sentence boundaries, as in “water is important for evey human being and doctors…” and the run-on sentence ending “properly.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and contrast structures, checking agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries.
