Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, there has been a debate about access to clean water without any charge due to is an obligation. I strongly agree citizens should have a water supply for free. In this essay i will give some reasons and examples to assit my point of view.
To begin with, water is something vital in our lives and without drinking it we cannot survive and live. In order to keep our body healthy we should have the right to clean water not only this but also this service must be free for urban and cities people. For instance, my uncle live in Urban area and they dont have water supply there and a clean water, as a result he is sick now since the cause of his sickness is the dirty water that he used to drink always.
Another significant factor is, humans cant live without drinking water 6 days so it is crucial to have a clean water in every home seeking to keep our health good, more than that this right should be free and whitout any charge. In addition ,majority of individuals who used to drink clean water they are in a good health not only this but also they have a good energy that help them productive in their days.
In conclusion, the importance of clean water assit our bodies to stay alive and activated, thats why every home should have a clean water and without any charge, with this way we gonna enhance our health with something basic.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that households should receive clean water without charge, and you give relevant reasons about survival and health. The example about your uncle also helps illustrate the consequences of unsafe water. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because it mainly repeats that water is essential and should be free, rather than developing distinct reasons or considering what “free” provision would mean in practice. The claim that people cannot live without water for “6 days” is not explained or connected to the policy argument, and the example is brief. To strengthen the response, explain how free access protects people who cannot afford safe water and support each main point with clearer detail or a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Another significant factor,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, progression is limited because both body paragraphs make very similar points about water, health, and the right to free access. Linking phrases such as “not only this but also” and “In addition” are repeated or used awkwardly, so connections between ideas can feel mechanical rather than clear. Some sentences also combine several points without showing how they relate. Give each body paragraph a distinct focus, and use simpler, more precise transitions to show cause, example, or consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “water supply,” “human right,” and “productive,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “a clean water” is not natural, “assit” is misspelled, and “activated” does not express the intended idea of being healthy or energetic. Phrases such as “good health” and “without any charge” recur without much variation. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build a more precise set of expressions for access, affordability, sanitation, and public health, and check spelling and natural word combinations when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason-and-result structure with “as a result,” and the overall argument can usually be followed. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “my uncle live” and “they dont have,” where the verb form does not agree with the subject, and “majority of individuals … they are,” where the sentence structure is faulty. The opening phrase “due to is an obligation” is also difficult to parse. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and missing spaces after commas. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add complex clauses with carefully checked subjects and verbs.
