Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you completely agree that clean water should be provided without charge. You give relevant reasons, including water’s importance for daily needs and the health risks faced by people who cannot afford safe supplies, and you explain that government should ensure access. These points address the question, but they are not all developed equally. The discussion of water’s uses is broad, while the claim that free provision would reduce water-borne illness would be stronger with a specific example or explanation of how access would be ensured. The conclusion restates your view but adds little. To develop the response further, explain how free household supply could be funded or managed, and support key claims with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally move from water’s importance to affordability and the government’s role. You also use linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “Although,” and “Furthermore.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second paragraph shifts from human health to plants and the environment without explaining the connection, and the third combines affordability, disease prevention and government responsibility in one long sequence. Some connectors are not used accurately, particularly “Although,” which does not introduce a clear contrast. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it; use referencing and transitions to show the relationship between ideas rather than simply adding another point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “basic human right,” “clean water,” “government,” and “water-borne diseases.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “afford” and “responsibility.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “water is the common thing” and “load to the healthy body” do not express your intended ideas naturally; “water” and “supply” are also repeated frequently. Spelling errors such as “completly,” “Aditionally,” and “peson” further affect accuracy. Build a bank of natural topic collocations and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “if the government supply the clean water for free every person able to drink it.” This shows an effort to express cause and effect, but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in examples such as “it have to be same” and “if the government supply”; articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “Accessibility of the clean water is the basic human right.” Several sentences run together, with punctuation that does not clearly separate clauses, making some relationships harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and complete conditional patterns, then divide long sentences into clearer units. More reliable control of these forms would make your argument easier to read.
