Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a clear position in favour of free water, stating that “every home get water free,” and you give relevant reasons: clean water supports health, while unsafe water can harm people. You also suggest government action, such as providing dispensers and supply connections. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: it does not explain how a free household supply would be funded or why this should apply to every home, and several points repeat rather than develop the argument. The college example is not clearly connected to the question about homes. The response is also 35 words below the required minimum. Develop two or three reasons with specific explanations or examples to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The response stays broadly focused on water and health, and words such as “because” and “if” show attempts to connect ideas. However, it is presented as one long, unpunctuated sequence, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the introduction, supporting reasons, and conclusion. Ideas also move abruptly from colleges to homes, then to shops, street dispensers, and poor households. Repeated use of “because” and “if” does not create a clear progression, and references such as “both water” are difficult to follow. Organise the essay into paragraphs, give each paragraph one main point, and use clear linking phrases and pronouns to show how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use relevant basic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “immune system,” “filter,” “government,” and “poor people,” so the main topic is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “water,” “life,” and “good for us.” Some choices are unclear or imprecise, such as “it cleans our immune system,” “stagnant water” where you appear to mean unsafe or unfiltered water, and “installment” for putting equipment in place. Spelling errors such as “healt,” “destory,” and “dispansers” also make the writing less clear. Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check spelling; for example, distinguish a “household water supply” from “bottled water.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses beginning with “because” and “if,” and the reader can identify your general view. However, sentence structures are very limited, and many clauses run together without punctuation, making relationships between ideas difficult to understand. There are frequent problems with sentence formation and agreement, as in “every home get water free” and “water plays a very important in our life.” Articles and verb forms are also often missing or incorrect, and the response has few clearly controlled sentence patterns. Practise writing complete sentences with a subject and verb, then use full stops to separate ideas. Check agreement and articles, for example: “Every home should receive a free water supply.”
