Student answer (Band 4.5)
The water is the most significant thing in our lives all the living organisms need it soo they have the right to acess to it.From my perspctive people will demand to not purchase the water and they want to get for free.
In the past there was a lot of wars and a lot of poor families they couldn't provid the clean water they didn't have money to buy it for instance in Africa wealthy ones drink and clean thier houses. However now time they all have water in thier home the government provid that but for charge poepl have to pay every month for getting clean water.in my opinion government shoul look for the bad and poor said to thier country and getiing them a clean and fresh water to drink.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You express a relevant view that poorer people should receive clean water without charge, especially in the final sentence, where you say the government should provide it to people in need. However, the response only minimally addresses the question: it does not clearly state whether every household should receive water free of charge, and the opening mainly predicts that people would want free water. The reference to unequal access in Africa is relevant, but it is not explained with a specific example or developed reasoning. The required minimum length is not met, so the argument remains very limited. To strengthen the response, state your position directly and develop two reasons with explanations and examples, while addressing whether free provision should apply to all homes or only those unable to pay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic sequence from the importance of water, to past inequality, and then to your view about government support. The contrast signalled by “However” also shows an attempt to connect ideas. Nevertheless, the response is presented as two dense paragraphs with little clear progression within them, and several ideas run together, such as the discussion of wars, poor families, and access in Africa. Connections between claims are sometimes unclear, and the final opinion arrives without a developed lead-in. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each supporting reason, and your conclusion. Build links explicitly—for example, explain how inability to pay leads to poor access—rather than relying on a few connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “government,” “poor families,” and “free of charge,” so the central subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is basic and some wording is repetitive, particularly the repeated references to water and payment. Several spelling errors, such as “acess,” “thier,” and “poepl,” make the writing less clear, while phrases such as “bad and poor said” and “now time” are difficult to understand or unnatural. Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions such as “low-income households” and “subsidise water bills” would help you explain your position clearly without relying on repeated basic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses simple statements and attempts a few longer structures, including “they couldn't provide the clean water” and the sentence beginning “In my opinion.” However, sentence boundaries and punctuation are often uncontrolled: the opening joins several clauses without appropriate full stops, and the long sentence beginning “In the past” contains multiple ideas that are not clearly separated. There are also errors in articles, verb forms, and agreement, as in “the government provid that” and “people will demand to not purchase.” These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise writing short, complete sentences first, then combine them with accurate conjunctions and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
