Student answer (Band 6.0)

Water is a source of life, and every living being deserve an access to free clean water. In my opinion, Yes I agree, every home should have a water supply with no charge.

In remote areas, people often struggles to find clean water. Everyday, many children's, adults and old people consume unhygienic water. They use dirty water for cleaning, cooking food, and utilizing in daily life. Dirty water leads to many water-borne diseases i.e, dysentery, cholera etc are spread through contaminated water.

Many NGO's are working and installing tube well and water plants for fulfilling water need of people. According to UN SDG's, water scarcity is consider one of the major global issue that must be addressed. Globally, a vast number of people died of thrust and by consuming filthy water. It is a basic human necessity to have clean water.

If a clean water is present, government pose tax on its supply. Many private organization charge consumer for consuming clean water. They gave excuses like, its a chlorinated water, it has rich amount of minerals so we are charging because of that. It's not bad to charge but, a poor person cannot afford. Clean water should be free.

I recently saw my neighbors install fresh clean tube well for all. They supply water house to house for free and allow everyone to fill there cans or bottles from fresh filtrate water. But, have a fix time to supply from 9:00am to 8:00pm which is okay. I saw many people praising them for this act of kindness.

Therefore, it is a responsibility of government to form policies that provide access to clean water to everyone with no charge on it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that households should receive clean water without charge. You address the human-rights and affordability aspects, and the examples about waterborne illness, private charges, and your neighbours’ well are relevant. This gives the response a solid answer to the question. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the discussion of NGOs and the UN’s development goals does not clearly show how these support free household supply, and the neighbours’ example illustrates generosity more than a workable policy. To strengthen the response, explain who should fund the supply, how free access could be maintained, and why this approach is preferable to charging users.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall structure: it states a view, develops several supporting points in separate paragraphs, gives a personal example, and ends with a recommendation. The progression from water-related hardship to affordability and then government responsibility is generally understandable. Some links between ideas are less clear, however. The paragraph beginning “Many NGO’s are working” moves from local projects to a global statistic and then to a general claim without showing the relationship between them. Connectors such as “Therefore” and “But” help, though the links can feel mechanical or incomplete, particularly in the final example. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each example supports the central argument; this would make the progression more consistently logical and the paragraphing more purposeful.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “water-borne diseases,” “contaminated water,” “water scarcity,” and “chlorinated water.” These terms help communicate the subject and show attempts to use more specific language. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, such as “died of thrust,” “rich amount of minerals,” and “fresh filtrate water”; these reduce precision even though the main meaning is usually recoverable. There are also spelling and form errors, including “NGO’s” and “there” where “their” is intended. Aim for natural combinations such as “died from thirst,” “contains a high level of minerals,” and “filtered water,” and check spelling and apostrophe use during editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and most ideas remain understandable. The conditional sentence “If a clean water is present, government pose tax on its supply” shows an effort to express a relationship, while the final sentence gives a clear recommendation. However, some errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction remain. Examples include “every living being deserve,” “people often struggles,” and “water scarcity is consider.” The sentence beginning “But, have a fix time” is incomplete, and “It’s not bad to charge but, a poor person cannot afford” has awkward punctuation and an unclear object after “afford.” Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and make sure each sentence has a complete main clause. More accurate control of these patterns would improve clarity.
