Student answer (Band 5.5)
clean water is a basic necessity to mankind.we use it for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning in our daily lives.nature has provided good resources of water in the form of rivers, lakes, ponds, well n so on.all these waterbodies not only useful to mankind but a habitat for several aquatic plants, animals and fishes.for many fishes, it is the source of oxygen. As the world heading towards the development in technology, buiding works, advancements in every front of life ..there has been significant damage to water resssources .for example, chemical wastes release from industries into ponds and rivers has not only effected the aquatic life but also the human life since the people living arround the industries has no access to pure water. not only the industries, there are several other reasons of clean water deprivation like climate changes where we are facing low rate of rainfall, which has significantly reduced the ground water hence reducing the fresh water access to common people There needs a proper governance of municipality to manage their duties to provide clean water..while many areas face water scarcity because of poor administrative services from government . one of the prime reasons for no access to clean water is polluting water bodies by behaving uncivilised.where people dump the plastics, wastes and other waste material which not only pollutes water or harm aquatic creatures but also contributes in mosquito or flies infestation.which further results in many harmful diseases. i would conclude by , 1.behaving responsibly as a good citizen of a country and not pollute the waterbodies will help in saving clean water 2.proper municipal services where clean water accesibility as prioirity is needed. 3.industries and all the construction and development works must come up with better waste disposaal methods to avoid water pollution which makes the clean water less accesible clean water is a basic right which every human must practice without much of charges or difficulties ,which is easy to compile if all of us do our bit

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant causes of limited access to clean water, including industrial pollution, reduced rainfall, poor municipal services and littering, and you offer practical actions such as improving waste disposal. However, the central question is whether every home should receive water free of charge, and this is only addressed briefly in the final sentence. Your position is therefore not consistently clear, and the discussion focuses more on water pollution and conservation than on the costs, fairness or feasibility of free household supply. To strengthen the response, state your agreement or disagreement in the introduction and develop two or three reasons directly related to free provision, supported with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response contains a recognisable sequence: it introduces water’s importance, describes threats to supply, and ends with proposed actions. Linking expressions such as “for example,” “not only,” and “while” help connect some points. However, the ideas are presented as one continuous block rather than in clear paragraphs, and the numbered conclusion appears abruptly after the discussion. Several points also repeat the general idea of pollution without showing how each advances the argument about free water. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons and conclusion, and make the relationship between each paragraph explicit. This would create clearer progression and reduce the impression of a list of related observations.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water scarcity,” “ground water,” “aquatic life,” “municipal services” and “waste disposal,” which helps communicate the subject. There is some variety in describing environmental problems and possible responses. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, for example “resssources,” “accesibility,” “prioirity” and “disposaal.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “clean water deprivation,” “behaving uncivilised” and “compile” in the final sentence. These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations such as “lack of access to clean water” and “implement effective waste-management methods.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example the sentence explaining how industrial waste affects aquatic and human life, and you use some subordinate clauses. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex attempts are often difficult to follow. Errors include missing verbs and articles (“As the world heading towards…”), incorrect agreement (“there needs a proper governance”), and incomplete or awkward sentence construction (“which has significantly reduced the ground water”). Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and fragments. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate ideas. Greater control of basic sentence patterns will make your argument easier to understand.
