Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widely argued that every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge everywhere and anytime . In my opinion , I completly agree with this prespection because water is a basic human that a human or also an animal or plant can not survive without it and the government can benefit from it much more than if it is payable.

To begin with , the principal reason supporting my opinion is that water is a basic human that neither a human nor an animal or plant can not survive without it . To elaborate,If somoene can not pay for the water so it can deshydrate and can provocate a health problems . A prominent example of this is kidneys problems . Consequently that can be a dangerous problem for humanity and also for the animals and plants .

Furthermore , another compelling argumant for my view is the government can benefit from it much more than if it is payable .This is largely due to the fact that if the government pay to take care of the population like when poor people can not pay for the water so they could have health problems and they go to the hospital . For instance, the govermnet who pay for their surgeries and the medicins . As a direct result, the goverments can not benefit from it .

In conclusion , I firmly maintain that water is a basic right human and it would be fo free every where and for anyone because it is a right .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear position—“I completly agree”—and give two relevant reasons: water is essential for health, and public provision might reduce later healthcare costs. However, the second reason is not fully explained: the link between free water, fewer hospital visits, and government savings is asserted rather than demonstrated, and the example about paying for surgeries does not clearly support the claim. The response therefore addresses the question only partially, with ideas that remain limited and under-developed. Also, the authoritative length check says the response is 249 words, one word below the 250-word minimum; 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main position and supporting points. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, the sequence from poor people being unable to pay, to health problems, hospital visits, and government-paid surgeries does not make the intended cause-and-effect relationship clear. Connectors such as “Consequently” and “As a direct result” are used, but the ideas following them do not always follow logically. Repetition of the same claim about water being essential also limits development. Make each paragraph follow a clear reason → explanation → example sequence, and use references that make it clear what “it” refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “basic human right,” “health problems,” “population,” and “government,” and phrases such as “To elaborate” show an attempt to express relationships between ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument difficult to understand. For example, “a basic human” does not express the intended idea of a basic necessity or right, while “can provocate a health problems” is not a natural way to describe health consequences. Spelling errors such as “completly,” “somoene,” and “goverment” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling and word forms so your meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, as in “This is largely due to the fact that if the government pay…” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. In “neither a human nor an animal or plant can not survive,” the negative construction is incorrect; the verb should also agree with “government” in “the government pay.” Other examples include “if someone can not pay … so it can deshydrate” and “a health problems,” which show problems with clause structure, pronoun reference, and singular/plural agreement. Punctuation spacing is also inconsistent. Practise building accurate conditional sentences and checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex clauses.
