Student answer (Band 5.5)

Every person has right to drink clean water. He should be supply clean water free of charge. As we know 71% area of our earth is coverd with water and the other is dry. So we have enough water resources.

Our drinking water mostly comes from bneath the earth and small percentage from mountains and some amount of sea water also be purified through machinery for drinking. Basically water is a sign of life so it should be used carefully. Some countries are rich in this resource and some have limited resources. Warm and desert areas known its actual importance because it helps the living things to remain hydrated. Second thing is limited resources, gulf countries and african countries face problem of clean water. They have large oil reserves but limited water reserves. So to complete the demand of water in these areas, different costly procedures followed for getting clean water that in result water supplies at some cost.

Furthermore, those areas gifted with water resources are unaware of its importance. They use it uselesly and wasted alot that may have bad consiquences in future. Keeping in view the future generation they have to use it carefully. Our policy maker should give path to nation on the use of these resources. In many developed countries a cleaing system has been install to clean rain water and supplied to community. Apart from that many countries who are suffring from water shortage should be helped because it is the right of every living things. All the countries should financially support so with the help of technology water supply make able to that areas. Teams should be made that survey areas where there is no water for people and supply water to them free of cost.

Ovrall, water is a basic need so it should be supplied free of cost but also make precationary measure for its saving.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You take a clear position in favour of free access to clean water, especially in the conclusion: “water is a basic need so it should be supplied free of cost.” You also give relevant reasons, including unequal water availability, the expense of purification in water-scarce regions, and the need to protect supplies for future generations. These points address the question, but the central claim that every home should receive water free of charge is not explored consistently. For example, the discussion of costly procedures explains why water may have a cost, but you do not resolve this tension or explain how free provision could be funded. Develop fewer points with specific examples and clarify whether free supply applies to all household use or a basic amount.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has an overall structure: it introduces the issue, develops points about water availability and conservation, and ends with a conclusion. Paragraphing helps separate the main stages, and transitions such as “Furthermore” and “Apart from that” show how you intend to connect ideas. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The opening moves from the proportion of Earth covered by water to the claim that resources are sufficient, without explaining the difference between seawater and accessible drinking water. Some references, such as “those areas,” are not fully clear, and several ideas are joined in long sequences. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph develop one main reason in a more deliberate order.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water resources,” “limited resources,” “water shortage,” “purified,” and “future generation,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “oil reserves” and “rain water.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, for example “bneath,” “uselesly,” “bad consiquences,” and “make precationary measure.” Some choices also make the intended meaning less precise, as in “the other is dry” and “water is a sign of life.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for water supply, treatment, and conservation. Prefer precise expressions such as “freshwater resources” when distinguishing usable water from the planet’s total water.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because it helps the living things to remain hydrated” and a relative clause in “areas where there is no water for people.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message is generally understandable. However, some errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms remain. For example, “He should be supply” needs a passive form, while “71% area … is coverd” has problems with the article and verb form. In “different costly procedures followed,” the sentence needs a finite verb, and “it should be used carefully” has an unclear pronoun reference. Practise accurate passive constructions, subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clauses, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
