Student answer (Band 7.5)
It is argued by many that every individual, regardless of their finance, nationality or economic status, is entitled to safe drinking water as a basic rights. This essay strongly agrees with this view of statement, as clean water is essential for living and its absence worsens social imbalance and contributes to the spread of disease.
First and foremost, clean water is every human's number one priority due to our body made out of 50 to 75 percent of liquid depending on the age, and therefore we can supply our body with clean and drinkable water. It is the best liquid resource for human consumption to maintain our health. Water is useful for every day tasks. For example: washing hands, cleaning dishes or simply drinking it. Without safe drinking water, individuals face severe health risks, including cholera and dysentery, which negatively affects vulnerable populations in the developing nations. For instance, there are reports that millions of children die annually from waterborne diseases that could be prevented with access to clean water sources. This demonstrates that denying water access can cause huge risk of more and more people facing death.
Furthermore, guaranteeing water as a right would compel governments to prioritize infrastructure and sanitation investment, thereby reducing social inequality. In many low-income countries, wealthier citizens can afford private water sources while poorer communities rely on contaminated rivers. If water were legally recognized as a right, states would be obligated to ensure equitable distribution, as seen in South Africa's constitution, which explicitly guarantees this right and has led to expanded public water infrastructure.
In conclusion, clean water is fundamental to health, survival, social equality, it should be important to know that without clean water every nations might face chaos. Governments and international bodies must work together to make this a reality for all.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas are relevant and well-supported, particularly the discussion on health risks and the mention of South Africa's constitutional approach. The argument is logical and sufficiently developed for an IELTS task. To reach a higher band, ensure that the conclusion does not introduce new ideas (like the mention of 'chaos') and instead focuses on summarizing the main points already discussed to reinforce the position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the health-related arguments from the socio-political ones. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'For instance', and 'Furthermore' are used appropriately to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the final sentence of the conclusion is a bit abrupt. Improving the flow between sentences within paragraphs would help achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate and allows for clear communication. You have used some topic-specific terms like 'waterborne diseases', 'sanitation', and 'equitable distribution'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'regardless of their finance' (should be 'financial status') and 'view of statement' (should be 'view'). Expanding your range to include more sophisticated collocations or idiomatic expressions would enhance the lexical quality.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'due to our body made out of' (should be 'due to our bodies being made of') and 'every nations' (should be 'every nation'). Punctuation is generally correct, but there are minor errors in subject-verb agreement. To improve, focus on refining complex sentence structures and ensuring consistent grammatical accuracy throughout the text.
