Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is arguably that individuals must be provided clean water. Thereby, every accommodation have to have sufficient water to drink, which can not be cost.I strongly oppose this view that I will discuss this side.

Every creatures living on earth, can drink clean water If we create filter for it as our planet contains seventy one percent of water nevertheless its 3 percent is drinkable and 97 percent of it is salted water of ocean. For instance, nowadays, the major challenge affecting our valuable water is climate change, which is posed by mankind over last decades. Therefore, if we can not invent the machine that filters salted water into clean, we will have inevitable issue.

In addition, the total population of earth are wasting sustainable water in mining industry and other unnecessary things such as using so much water on bath and watering plants or even washing their cars by clean water.

Another challenging issue is polluting the river, lake, ocean, sea, and streams through our mechanics or machines we made. For instance, we are using the water as toy.Furthermore, attitude towards water is thought permanent all over the world in any condition.

In conclusion, It can be concluded that if we do not save water significantly and contaminate, It is not meaningful and reasonable to government to put action. Also, there is sufficient filter for us and if we invent this machine and use this long-term, the supply of water has not potential to provide us forever and over time it finished. Thereby, if we want to every home have water supply even free of charge, we should adopt to save the water and get involved in project of reducing the effect of climate change.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt, but the position is somewhat contradictory and unclear. While you state you 'strongly oppose' the view that water should be free, your conclusion suggests that if we want universal access, we must adopt conservation measures, which muddies your stance. The ideas regarding desalination and pollution are relevant but lack depth; they focus more on the general challenges of water management rather than directly arguing why water should or should not be provided free of charge. To improve, ensure your main arguments directly support your thesis statement throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often hindered by awkward phrasing and confusing transitions. For example, the transition 'Thereby' is used incorrectly at the start of sentences, and the connection between the paragraphs is weak. While you use some cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'Furthermore', they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow your line of reasoning. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'sustainable water' (likely meaning 'potable' or 'fresh' water) and 'using the water as toy'. Some phrasing is non-idiomatic, such as 'it is not meaningful and reasonable to government to put action'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, and ensure that your word choices accurately reflect the intended meaning in a formal context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('every accommodation have to have', 'every creatures... can drink'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or contain run-on structures that impede clarity. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty, which limits your score in this criterion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms.
