Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that access to clean water is a basic human need. that's why every home should have free water supply. I partially agree with the view and describe my points in upcoming paragraph.
Now a days, every essential thing prices are getting higher and middle class family and lower class family suffer a lot. So, if government apply charge on water how they can survive. In some country the poor people survive their whole day by drinking water. sometime they do not find a food to eat. On behalf of this point, I agree with the statement.
Furthermore, There is a also consequence of free things. Sometime human beings not valued free items because of that there is also limited excess on free items like water supply is free for certain period of time. like they are filling their water pool, usage in massive water fountains and poring into garden. So, there is also apply texation on excesive water supply.
To conclude that, Clean water supply to household is a free for certain period of time and if there usage is getting higher they need to pay tax on that.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 192 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient supporting examples or depth. While you have addressed the prompt by providing a partially agreed position, the brevity prevents a full exploration of the topic. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples to ensure the essay is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'To conclude', the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the cost of living and the specific argument for free water could be more explicitly linked. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'every essential thing' and 'free things'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'limited excess on free items' (likely meaning 'access') and 'apply texation' (taxation). To achieve a higher score, focus on using more academic vocabulary and precise collocations related to the topic of public services and economic policy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('every essential thing prices are'), missing articles ('In some country'), and awkward phrasing ('There is a also consequence'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect word forms.
