Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is widly accepted that access to clean fresh water, drinking water is a basic human right. Every resident should demand for it. I differ with my view point that every household should be guaranteed a basic supply of water free of cost because it is essential for survival and public health. My preference is explained further
The fundamental reson for my opinion is water is basic need for human life without a reliable supply of water people cannot drink, cook, maintain hygiene, or prevent the spread of diseases. families living in the poverty are often faced the issue of water shortage and utility costs. Providing every household with a minimum amount of free water would help reduce iniquality, improve hygiene and public health. For instance, communities with access to clean water generally experienced lower rates of disease, reducing pressure on healthcare system and improve overall quality of life.
Furthermore, ensuring free access to basic quality to water reflacts to government's responsibility to protect citizens welfare. For example, many country provide free primary education or healthcare, likewise they should guaranted enough water to essential needs. Government should essure that children and elders are not deprived of such basic need because of finacial harship.
However, i would not disrecognised the aspect that offering unlimited source of clean water could encourage unnecessary consumption and had significant pressure on limited freshwater resources. Distribution of water need some amount of money so that, they can improve the whole system, and it requires investment to improve. These costs must recover by the government to maintain infastructure.
To sum up, it can be stand that household should recieve a basic supply of clean water free of charge because it is a fundamental right of human and essential for health and well-being. Nevertheless, charging for excessive consumption is necessary to promote responsible use and ensure protecting and saving of this precious resorce.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You successfully argue for the provision of a basic water supply while acknowledging the need for charges on excessive consumption. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the link between water access and public health. However, some arguments could be more thoroughly extended; for example, the comparison to primary education is a strong point but could be elaborated upon to further solidify your stance. Overall, the response is focused and directly answers the question, demonstrating a good understanding of the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'To sum up' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical, and some transitions feel a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'fundamental', 'iniquity', 'infrastructure', and 'unnecessary consumption'. There are some spelling errors ('widly', 'reson', 'inastructure', 'resorce') and minor collocation issues, such as 'demand for it' instead of 'demand it' and 'disrecognised' which is not standard English. While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, these errors occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on refining your word choice and ensuring accurate spelling of academic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully convey your meaning, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the poverty', 'the healthcare system'), verb forms ('families... are often faced the issue'), and prepositions. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'it can be stand that household should recieve'. Despite these errors, the meaning is generally clear and communication is not impeded. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your score.
