Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by stating a clear position in favor of free water access. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention health and survival, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the link between personal health and the national economy is a good idea, but it is not sufficiently explored or supported with specific evidence. The essay tends to over-generalize, and the reasoning remains at a basic level. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples that go beyond simple statements about staying healthy or avoiding disease.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Furthermore, clean water stay us healthy' is grammatically incorrect and lacks a proper transition. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of varied linking words. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences feels disjointed. To achieve a higher score, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices (such as 'consequently', 'in addition to', or 'nevertheless') more naturally to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'clean water', 'healthy', and 'stay'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'Daria' (likely meaning diarrhea) and 'serval' (likely meaning several), as well as 'on of the main element to alive'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'potable water', 'public utility', 'sanitation', or 'economic productivity'. Expanding your range of synonyms and collocations will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'clean water stay us healthy'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'element to alive'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and practicing the construction of complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions like 'although', 'because', or 'which'.
