Student answer (Band 6.0)

Water is considered as a basic human right for everyone. Each house should have the free connection of water. I completely agree with this satement.

There are several reasons for this free supply. The primary reason is the people can not afford expensive water supplies. As it is the basic necessary for every home. People use water for different household activities which sometimes cause them much electricity bills .As the technolgies are getting advanced people also want to get more purified water for drinking purpose. For example, living in an appartment of a big building,it is already very difficult to get other facilities like electricity and gas. People cannot imagine to pay for water too.

However, the other reason for free supply of the water is shortages of clean water for drinking. Some areas of the country are unable to get fresh and clean water which cause them serious health issues like diarhea and stomach problems.

The adminstratives shoulds take different measure to process the dirty water and make free supply for everyone. For instance, government should invest more on research and development ares which can create ways to recyleand purified the condaminated water. Morever, it is also necessary for govenment to aware people about the limited and sustainable use of water.Government can aware people through social media adds and also from the caller tunes of the different cellular companies.

To sum up this disscusion, I strongly believe that water should be provided free to every household as it is the essentail of living for every human beings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention financial constraints and health issues, the arguments lack depth and specific evidence. For instance, the link between electricity bills and water usage is unclear, and the suggestion for 'caller tunes' as a government strategy is not fully relevant to the core issue of water provision. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the economic or social implications of free water provision with more sophisticated reasoning rather than listing general points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'However, the other reason' is used to introduce a new point, but it does not effectively contrast with the previous paragraph. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented, such as 'As it is the basic necessary for every home,' which disrupts the flow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'satement', 'appartment', 'adminstratives', 'govenment', and 'disscusion'. Furthermore, some word choices are unnatural, such as 'free connection of water' instead of 'free water supply' or 'basic necessary' instead of 'basic necessity'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and proofreading for common spelling mistakes, as these errors occasionally make the text feel less professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'The adminstratives shoulds take different measure' (subject-verb agreement and pluralisation issues) and 'which cause them serious health issues' (should be 'causes'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate better control over complex structures and ensure that basic grammatical rules, such as subject-verb agreement and article usage, are applied consistently.
