Student answer (Band 6.0)
First we reed this statement and think how water is important for living and human lives because its a very big problem means think if someone not have clean water for drinking.
I think if every one have water supply without any cost then they waste water and it is not good for us.
Clean water is basic need for humans but if 70% have lots of water and they waste water this is directly effect on those 30% because if we can't save it then we suffering for it.
If any one have knowledge about world they knows how many countries suffering with this issue and they think to solve it but the population is barrier.
If government supply clean water then they start bills like gas if every month every one pay bills then they know the worth of water this time we pay bills of gas then we know the worth same rule apply on water. Its not matter its expansive or not but its solve the problem of wasting water.
For Example;
Last year i went to Arab i spend almost 2 months i see in arab they pay money for buying water. They pay for water and they use it like if water ends then they pay again for it and these types of countries know the worth of it.
If we not control this problem then one day its comes big issue all over world and we all know every government need 10 to 20 years to solving big issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against free water supply, arguing that it leads to waste. However, the development of ideas is limited. While the argument regarding water conservation is relevant, the explanation is repetitive and lacks depth. The example provided about the Arab countries is personal and anecdotal rather than analytical. To improve, you should expand on the economic or social implications of your argument rather than relying on simple statements. The response is somewhat underdeveloped, as the points made are quite basic and lack the sophisticated reasoning required for higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between ideas is often abrupt, and the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate (e.g., 'this time we pay bills of gas then we know the worth'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary linking words to create a smooth, cohesive argument. Improving the use of transition signals like 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in contrast' would significantly enhance the readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Words like 'big,' 'good,' and 'problem' are used frequently, which limits the range of expression. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'they start bills' instead of 'the government would introduce utility charges' and 'this is directly effect on' instead of 'this directly affects.' While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the reliance on simple, everyday language prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should aim to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to economics, public policy, and environmental conservation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every one have,' 'they knows'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, lacking proper punctuation. While there is an attempt at complex structures, they are often faulty, such as 'if we can't save it then we suffering for it.' The control over basic grammar is inconsistent, and the lack of error-free sentences is a significant factor in the scoring. Focusing on sentence construction and basic verb tenses would be a good starting point for improvement.
