Student answer (Band 7.0)
Clean water is a basic human requirement and every individual have a right to access it for free. I completely disagree with this statement because it is a non-renewable resource and this activity will create burden on the treasure of the government.
The access to water supply should not be provided for free because it is a non-renewable resource. If it will be provided for free so, the people might not value it which would lead to over utilisation or wastage of resource. As a result, the future generation would not be able to meet their requirements. So, in order to ensure that people are making effective utilisation of water it should not be offered for free either the government can impose restriction by limiting the free usage of clean water.
Secondly, a huge amount is invested by the government in purification of the water by using various modern technologies and for supplying water to each and every part of the world so that it could be easily accessible by the population. So, the government should change from the population to create economic stability in the country. Otherwise, this activity will create a huge burden on the treasure of authorities and the authorities would not be able to invest huge amount on other important facilities such as healthcare, education, infrastructure.
To conclude, it can be said that although access to every clean is a human right but it should not be offered for free so that people could value the economic resources and use them in a limit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have clearly stated your position against the provision of free water and maintained this stance throughout the essay. You provided two main arguments: the risk of over-utilization and the economic burden on government resources. While the ideas are relevant, they could be developed further with more specific examples or evidence to reach a higher band. For instance, you mention 'modern technologies' but do not elaborate on how these impact costs. The conclusion effectively summarizes your position, though it contains a minor error ('access to every clean'). Overall, you have addressed all parts of the prompt with a clear, consistent argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a distinct point. You use cohesive devices such as 'Secondly', 'As a result', and 'To conclude' to guide the reader through your argument. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow could be smoother. For example, the sentence 'So, the government should change from the population' is unclear and disrupts the logical progression of your argument regarding economic stability. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise would help elevate your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'non-renewable resource', 'economic stability', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that slightly hinder precision. For example, you use 'treasure of the government' instead of 'public funds' or 'national budget', and 'change from the population' is an incorrect usage. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, you need to work on using more precise academic collocations to move into the higher band range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('every individual have a right'), awkward phrasing ('create burden on the treasure'), and incorrect article usage ('the future generation'). Additionally, some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'if it will be provided for free so, the people might not value it'. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and refining your use of conditional structures.
