Student answer (Band 6.0)

Water is like a blessing or gift from the God for everyone in the world. Water has very important role in life of a individuals. So, from few years, a statement is very viral andhotly debated in the society that is, access to clean and pure water is a basic and necessary human right. Therefore all homes and accomodations should have water supply provided free of charge. I also agree with this statement, moreover in this essay, I will give my point of view and reason why I am agree with this statement.

To begin with, water is necessary to life and access to pure water is a basic human right. The main reason of this is that water is necessary to remain hydrated and play a role to prevent everyone from several diseases like dehydration, stomach diseases and kidney diseases etc. Secondly, water is used in every situation like for cooking, for cleaning and also for treatement of any disease. Due to this, It is necessary to provide crystal clear water to every one and in every home and without any cost.

Furthemore, water is not a public property or private property, it is a like a gift or blessing from God, therefore this is not right to charge everyone for clean water, it is provided free of cost.

In conclusion, I totally agree that it is everyone's right to get pure water without any cost. As it is not a private property, it is like a gift given from Creator of the Universe.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by stating a clear position of agreement. However, the development of ideas is quite limited. While you mention that water is necessary for health and domestic use, the arguments remain superficial and repetitive. To reach a higher band, you need to extend your ideas by explaining the implications of your points—for example, discussing the economic impact of free water or the potential challenges governments might face in providing it. The essay lacks depth and fails to explore the complexity of the issue, which is required for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at progression. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the connection between sentences is occasionally weak. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that builds upon the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'necessary to life' and 'gift or blessing from God'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'a statement is very viral and hotly debated'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to social policy, economics, or public infrastructure, and avoid informal or overly emotive language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include article usage ('from the God', 'a individuals'), subject-verb agreement ('I am agree'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically articles and verb forms, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for small errors like 'treatement' (spelling) and 'a individuals' will significantly improve your score.
