Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is undeniable that Access to clean water is a basic human right. with regards, there should be free of cost supply of water to every home. I agree upto large extent with the notion due to many reasons that will outline in the forthcoming fragement with a logical conclusion.

To commence with, there are several benefits for this statement. First and foremost is that availability of clean water. To justify it, clean water supply will be available to everyone weather rich or poor that may result in decrease in rate of dose diseases that are caused by drinking dirty water mainly by people who live in slum areas. Secondly, Moral duty. To clarify it, this is the duty of government to ensure the better lifestyle of people living in the country therefore, higher authorities should give better living standard of the people to prevent them from diseases, However, Moreover, better public health, that if there will be clean water consumption by individual in result it will be sign of good health for then.

However, there are some drawbacks of suppling free water. In account, of wastage of water. This would be the cause of wasting water as people get free water then they will not feel the importance of water and they individuals may keep the tap on and the water may split all over the area. That would result in house of many mosquitos that could cause diseases.

To conclude, although there are several pros of suppling free water such as availability of clean water, better health, yet the cons of this task can never be neglected at any cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the benefits of clean water and the potential for wastage, the arguments are somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'moral duty' is mentioned but not fully explained in terms of economic or social impact. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by specific examples or logical reasoning that fully explores the implications of your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'However, Moreover' is confusing as these words have opposite functions. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, such as 'In account, of wastage of water.' The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by these awkward transitions. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'on the other hand') more naturally and accurately to connect your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher score. There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'dose diseases' (likely meaning 'waterborne diseases'), 'give better living standard,' and 'house of many mosquitos.' These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To improve, try to learn collocations in context rather than individual words, and aim to use more academic vocabulary to express complex ideas, such as 'infrastructure,' 'sustainability,' or 'socio-economic impact.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect article usage ('the duty of government' instead of 'the duty of the government'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments like 'Secondly, Moral duty.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the misuse of commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors impacts the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like articles and prepositions will help improve your score.
