Student answer (Band 6.5)

While availability of clean water is basic humanitarian right, through which every household should have water supply and provided free of cost. I believe that clean drinking water should be accessible to every individuals. Consequently availability of free could leads to excessive use and wastage

Nowdays, many nations are suffering from clean drinking water for self-consumption and household purposes. Due to this increasing number of various diseases are arising that causing severe life problems and overload in healthcare sector of nation. As it can easily tackled by providing clean drinking water supply to rural areas and places. Where citizens can consume safe drinking water for free of cost as certain extent. Furthermore, many

people cannot afford heavy pipeline systems for regular supply, which allows to perform such activities like agriculture and for basic sanitation uses that readily improve healthy lifestyles for many inhabitants.

Nevertheless, plantation of free water supply chain can also cause some detrimental impacts through excessive use of water as, if it available for no cost. To put this into perspective when vital resource is available for free, people tend exert pressure on the resource and higher authorities. Through which government require heavy funds to regulate that service which readily impact on nation economy and exploitation of that particular resource as it cause do significant damage

to natural ecosystem too.

To conclude, I firmly maintain that excessive consumption can be disadvantageous to the government and individuals. By controlling its regulation would not only benefit individuals but embrace the long term developement

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the humanitarian aspect of water access and the economic/environmental concerns of providing it for free. However, the position is somewhat contradictory; the introduction suggests support for the right to water, but the body paragraphs focus heavily on the dangers of free supply. The ideas are relevant but lack depth in their development. For instance, the mention of 'heavy pipeline systems' and 'healthcare sector' is a good start, but these points are not fully explored to support a cohesive argument. The conclusion attempts to summarize, but the overall stance remains slightly ambiguous regarding whether the writer truly agrees or disagrees with the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Nevertheless', and 'To put this into perspective' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between 'healthcare sector' and 'rural areas' is abrupt. The flow between sentences is generally logical, but the internal structure of some sentences is fragmented, which occasionally disrupts the progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, covering the topic with terms like 'humanitarian right', 'detrimental impacts', 'natural ecosystem', and 'exploitation'. There are some instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choice, such as 'plantation of free water supply chain' (instead of 'implementation') and 'as certain extent' (instead of 'to a certain extent'). While the student attempts to use more sophisticated vocabulary, these inaccuracies occasionally hinder the precision of the argument. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but lacks the flexibility and natural collocation expected at higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('in healthcare sector of nation'), incorrect verb forms ('could leads to'), and punctuation issues. Some sentences are grammatically incomplete or run-on, such as the opening sentence which lacks a main verb structure. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. Greater attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage is required to improve accuracy.
