Student answer (Band 7.0)
There are many parts in the world that still dream of clean water or just water for their needs. I strongly agree with statement to provide people who are really in need around the world water without any cost so that they can access the basic needs. However, providing everyone free water can led to water wastage. I will discuss both the points in the below paragraphs.
To begin with, because of the climate change that is happening around the globe lead to water scarcity in many rural parts on earth. In order to survive a human body needs the basic needs in which water being the top 3 important needs. In some desert regions it is really hard for the residents to find a water source because of the geography. For example: In Rajasthan the state of India there are almost 100 million people live there and due to the state being most of the desert the water shortage is really a thing over there . The only people who can get clean water is either wealthy so they are able to pay for water tanks on regular basis . However, residents with lack of money has to suffer every day to just get an access to water.
On the other hand , the idea that everyone around the world should have free water is not as good as it sounds . For example : In Punjab the government introduced a scheme in which farmers had the access to water free of cost and there was no limit on usage. In result of this many people increased the usage more than the requirements to their fields. Many farmers also starts to grow the crops that requires explicit amount of water for example : Rice. In result , this not only deplicts the ground water too much but also increased the debt on the state which eventually put more burden on the tax payers.
To conclude this, there should be free acces of Water and Electricity to the people suffering anywhere because of the high cost to afford these basic services. However, the policy or requirements are much in need so only the people who are in actual need can get the access and not everyone can abuse the system of free water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and discussing both sides of the argument. Your ideas are relevant, particularly the examples regarding water scarcity in Rajasthan and the agricultural water usage in Punjab. These examples provide good support for your arguments. To reach a higher band, ensure that your position remains consistent throughout the essay; while you argue for free water in the introduction, your conclusion introduces a nuance about 'policy or requirements' that could have been integrated more smoothly into the body paragraphs to strengthen the development of your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In result of this' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or grammatically awkward, such as 'In result of this' (should be 'As a result of this'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. To improve, focus on varying your linking phrases and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'these basic services') clearly points back to the previously mentioned concepts.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'water scarcity', 'geography', and 'tax payers'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'deplicts the ground water' (likely meant 'depletes') and 'explicit amount of water' (likely meant 'excessive'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for academic topics and proofreading for minor spelling or word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('many people increased the usage... many farmers also starts to grow') and article usage ('the state of India', 'the water shortage is really a thing'). Additionally, some sentence fragments or run-on sentences occur. To reach a higher band, focus on consistent verb tense usage and refining your control over articles and prepositions. Increasing the number of error-free sentences will significantly improve your score.
